Hotel Terminus

Upon checking in the Italian daughter was not welcoming at all we were given a series of instructions to follow This set the tone for the week. The owner mother seemed to prowl around and seemed to sit outside reception keeping watch. The lounge/bar area was never used at all. On our first night we came back to the hotel to have a nightcap at the so called bar ..as the only occupants we were greeted by a night porter who came from reception to begrudgingly serve us. We were rhen basically shouted at for trying to pay in cash. We were INSTRUCTED twice that after 9pm all drinks have to be on a room tag ..NOT CASH !!!(like we should have known !!).Because we were the only people inside or out we thought the atmosphere would be better if we sat away from the aggressive night porter..he told us that as it had rained outside would be unsuitable (but as it was uncomfortable at the bar we sat outside for a bit. As the rain started again we thought we would finish our drinks off in our room ....BIG MISTAKE !...Again we were instructed in no uncertain terms were glasses allowed in the bedrooms he only had 16 glasses that he himself had to wash and polish and his management had told him to enforce this policy. Had he Been better trained in his demeanour we might have been more understanding when I said I was not happy he acted as though not my problem..take it up with management so we took one sip of wine and left our wines at reception..THIS WAS OUR FIRST NIGHT !!!!!! After that.we only frequented the hotel to sleep ANd have breakfast. Breakfast was OK - there was choice and al least the kitchen staff were hard working and friendlier. The only slight downside is there was no real variation to the continental breakfast There was one occasion where my wife did not feel well enough to come down to breakfast and as I have done in many previous hotels I would have taken a very small plate to our room but....given all of the above what with the mother sitting on guard outside of the dining room ..I was scared to do it in case of being told off by her ! The Good part of the hotel experience was the afternoon staff Paola and Adiva..They were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble They were excellent!! Accommodation Hotel needs some TLC bedroom was clean but dated.Shower was poor no pressure and warmth was either too hot or then ran cold which meant you had to constantly fiddle with the xixer tap Downstairs lounge and tv room resembled what i can only descibe as...an old people's home Overall we have never been on a holidays were we have felt so intimidated We think TUI should have a serious think as to whether this is a hotel that represents TUI as a good hotel provider..sorry TUI !!

You feel 90s when you are in this hotel or maybe 80s Everything was old Very cold and I could only find one heater in the toilet and not in the room Price was cheap Location was good Very scary corridors Bed and toilet clean enough but very old Night mare for me

A typical no-frills hotel in a renovated building. The room was basic but clean. For the price, it was quite decent as one would typically pay twice the amount for an even smaller room at most other hotels. The location is great with restaurants and public transport less than a five minute walk. Overall, it's value for money but don't expect any frills.
