BEST WESTERN HOTEL REGINA

Needs some serious improvements, Hotel sign says it must have once been a Best Western in a former life maybe in the 70's Room windows can be opened fully even on the top floors and window sill is about crotch height so a real danger if any children are messing around with them. Grandson went to the toilet at 3am one morning and returned to his bed had a drink of water laid back down and after a minute heard a noise and sat back up only to find we had an intruder in our room standing at the foot of my bed dressed in black with a baseball cap on he shouted at him and he turned and ran which I then jumped up and quickly put on my shorts top and shoes and went out of the room to see if I could see anyone. I walked all four flights of the Hotel to see if anyone was present as there is no staff in the reception at night and you need your room key or a code to enter. In the morning I reported the incident to the guy behind the reception desk who said he would check the CCTV, There is no CCTV in the corridors and as far as I could see only in the reception area. They said nothing could be seen and said they would disable all key card access to our room except ours which didn't really make us feel any safer a room change would have been better. I did say to my grandson at the start of the Stay that sometimes it sounds like the electronic door lock was being tried several times and he said I was hearing things but after this incident I don't think so. Hotel is Close to a Shopping Mall so good for getting any goods etc and for any Travel there is a Tram/Bus Station literally 75mtrs away and Tram is only 2 stops to Siegburg/Bonn Railway Station.

+ Very good mattresses (new) + Spacious + Nice family room with two separate rooms (family suite, No 101) ++++ Newly renovated bathroom, toilet separate, bathtub with whirlpool function ++ Available parking place for free and very close + Charging station for electric cars not far (but not part of the hotel) + Free coffee in the lobby at all time + close to public transport, very easy to reach Bonn - they recently reopened and not everything works as it should yet. Room cleaning was only on demand, and limited breakfast options - limited availability of personnel

Really terrible!!!! I had reserved a room six weeks ago for me and my colleague, but it only worked out for one of us... Be that as it may: The very unfocused and unfriendly man at reception was just about able to sort it out. As I said, very very unfriendly. Even after I had mentioned my name numerous times, it was not possible for him to remember my name within 60 seconds (I have a very simple name). The breakfast that you have to book with it is unfortunately not available because the kitchen has not been approved. A reference to the HRS booking led to me being spoken to in a really rude manner. After all, it was HRS's problem: No, that's mine because I don't have breakfast tomorrow morning. His answer to that was: Then I'll just put a slice of bread out for you tomorrow morning for €14.50! The hotel's car park is unfortunately not available all day either. You can only use it from 5 p.m. I have been travelling frequently for work for over 25 years now and I can only say that I have never been treated so badly in a hotel. The gentleman is supposed to be the owner or manager... For me it is clear: never again!!!
