From August 25th to 27th, 2023 I was a 'guest' at the hotel in Wuppertal. The stay was anything but pleasant, and since no one thought it necessary to respond to my email, I'm writing about my experience here.
Arriving - since the restaurant hours are listed on the website as 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., I thought it shouldn't be a problem getting something to eat before checking in - it's probably nothing new to you that there's nothing there .
At the reception I was recommended a pizzeria, which was also closed - that can happen.
My room - I had booked a barrier-free room with a minibar - was happily explained to me at the reception that not a single room is barrier-free because they all have a bathtub instead of a shower.
Apart from the fact that the room was not clean in details (plus the toilet), the curtains had holes, the ceiling in front of the air conditioning was black with dirt that could also be seen in the slits (luckily I was able to leave them out), none Minibar was in the room, both bedside lamps could not be used - on one side there was no socket at all, the other was obviously broken.
The next surprise was breakfast.
Breakfast cannot be booked on your site, so I assumed that breakfast was included.
After they didn't let me into the breakfast room without paying at the reception, I was informed there that it was actually included until 2 days ago (i.e. 8/24/23), but that it has now changed. The employee said that I could have booked breakfast on your website, which is not true. When I showed him my booking confirmation (from July 15, 2023) he just shrugged his shoulders.
A colleague came over and explained to me that all the other guests also have to pay for breakfast, that booking on the hotel website is always more expensive than on Booking.com, and that the price I booked was a real steal and I could have gone to another hotel.
When I said something about the best price guarantee (see photo), they denied that such a thing existed. I would have paid less with breakfast at Booking.com. It's stupid that I thought it would be fairer to book in a hotel.
To top it off, after I insisted that she note on the invoice that I didn't get breakfast, your employee wrote on the invoice that the booking was without breakfast according to the guest. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry, had already packed away my reading glasses, and only saw this final audacity when I got home.
And one more thing - maybe you can tell me why the address of a Solingen company (fire protection) is on my invoice. Your employee claimed that I entered this when booking. She crossed it out on the registration and it's there again on the invoice.
All in all, and with all due respect, it was a horrible experience.

In terms of hygiene and appearance, it can pass for a quick visit. My colleague and I ended up here because we attended a 3-day seminar in the same hotel. Upon arrival on Sunday it turned out to be a double bed, so we kindly request a room exchange. This was impossible according to the receptionist, possibly the next day if something was cancelled. My colleague slept in the car in the parking lot. Had to wait all day on Monday after repeatedly asking for a solution. A separate bed or a mattress on the floor was absolutely not possible. Strange that such a rigid attitude is maintained in gastronomy.
It's now Tuesday morning and we still have 1 day to go and this probably won't turn out well and my colleague will sleep in his car again. Be warned that there is 1 employee (receptionist) is in this hotel who absolutely does not understand what gastronomy means.

The convenient location is ideal for meetings, conferences, etc. There are plenty of parking spaces, the ambience in the lobby is modern and inviting.
The conference rooms are well equipped, the gastronomic offerings during a series of seminars lasting several days were varied and extensive. The staff were always courteous and very friendly.
