Hotel Engel

Unacceptable! - the hotel leaves guests standing in the rain in front of a locked door. My wellness weekend ended before it could begin. Due to a massive train delay, I arrived later (around 5 PM instead of 3 PM) and found the hotel closed. My booking confirmation stated reception hours until 8 PM, so I did not request a "late check-in" in advance. I called the provided emergency number multiple times – each time only the answering machine, a callback never occurred. My messages via Booking also remained unanswered. So I waited in vain in front of the entrance, without receiving any help or information. Simply no one responded! A night outdoors in front of the closed hotel door was not an option, so I drove back, as there was no other alternative on such short notice. My subsequent complaint via Booking was also ignored by the hotel. Something like this has never happened to me before. Why does Hotel Engel treat its customers this way?

We spent 2 nights in the hotel. Located in a very quiet area. Directly within walking distance is a bus stop, with a spa card you can use the bus for free to get to the city center. The walk takes about 30 minutes, but goes very nicely through the Salinental. The place is very well maintained and clean. We had an "old room", the beds were comfortable but unfortunately have squeaked a bit. The room was spacious and very quiet. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room cozy. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous. Thank you for the lovely stay!

The short stay was very comfortable. The fact of having the carpet never gives me a full sense of cleanliness, but the room was clean, equipped with a minibar, a comfortable armchair and a large window. The only flaw was a rather annoying whistle coming from some other room in the building or outside. The breakfast buffet was good and offered quality products, the staff really helpful, courteous and qualified, especially Mrs. Anna who also offered us soft drinks during the time we were in the lobby to prepare our work.
