Diehl's Hotel

HOTEL: Very well located on the Rhine Cycle Path, clean and cozy. Even if the exterior does not look particularly inviting, the interior is cozy. PS: We did not have the problem with train noise mentioned in some comments, as the track is currently being renovated. STAFF: In the vast majority, very accommodating. FOOD: The menu offers a quite large selection and is suitable for every taste. Very good cuisine. Continental breakfast, nothing special. There was one evening when the food went completely wrong – why, remains a mystery. We were there for the whole week and apart from that one evening, everything was fine. ROOMS: The bathroom was very dark and the mattresses really left a lot to be desired – they absolutely must be replaced.

Dear Mr. Mehlhorn I would like to express my frustration regarding the inconveniences at your hotel in Koblenz. We had called while on the road and asked if a double room and a single room were still available for one night from August 28th. To August 29th, 2026. We were informed that there were still 2 rooms available in the guesthouse. We booked them as such while on the road. The man in charge at the reception was named Hassan. The room was offered to us, including breakfast, for € 136. On the invoice, it is clearly visible: 2 rooms with free breakfast! Furthermore, we did not know that the guesthouse was some distance away from the hotel. We were then offered one room on the second floor and one room on the third floor. Unfortunately, we were not informed that there is no elevator there. I am 78 years old and have trouble with one knee, and it is practically impossible for me to walk up such stairs. We actually wanted to leave right then, but then decided to stay overnight in the guesthouse. What then on 8/29. happened in the morning, no one can understand. We wanted to go have breakfast. We checked in with the receptionist Patricia. She informed us that only one room included breakfast, and the other had not booked breakfast. She then went to ask at the reception if the breakfasts were paid for. The receptionist Ignace informed her that none of the three of us had booked breakfast. We argued with him until he called you, dear Mr. Mehlhorn, and you told him that if we were not satisfied with this situation, we should call the police. This is shameful for a 4-star hotel, and this is certainly not how you treat guests! That is fraud against the hotel guest! We demand that you refund us for the breakfasts promptly. Should this not happen, we will file a report and publish our bad experience on social media (TripAdvisor, Trivago, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.). Please issue the refund to the credit card of the person who paid, Ms. Albania De la Cruz - De la Cruz. Sincerely Martin Bertschinger - De la Cruz Albania De la Cruz - De la Cruz

The hotel is located directly on the banks of the Rhine and each room has a river view. Very easily accessible by public transport, in about 5 minutes walking distance to the fortress elevator. The interior of our room was a bit old fashioned but very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we were able to drop off our luggage at reception as we arrived too early. The terrace from the restaurant was great, beautiful view of the Rhine and great sunsets. The food in the restaurant was excellent 🫶. Fine cuisine, great wine selection, value for money has fit, staff extremely friendly. Reserve in advance!
