Best Western Victor's Residenz

A very nice stay with small suggestions for improvement. Rating: Note 2 ± We stayed at Victor’s Residenz Hotel in Frankenthal from 15 to 19 October and felt very comfortable overall. The reception was very friendly and warm. We would like to emphasize the very good breakfast and the beautiful view that you can enjoy. Big praise goes to Soraya and Lena, who were always nice, attentive and accommodating. We were also satisfied with the apartment room – it was spacious and pleasant. The only criticism was the sofa, which unfortunately was quite uncomfortable and has somewhat diminished the otherwise very positive overall impression. We really enjoyed the evenings at the bar: There were delicious cocktails, light food and a very pleasant conversation with the team. A small improvement suggestion: It would be nice if you could move the bar, which is currently on the ground floor, to the eighth floor. So you could enjoy the great view in the evening with pleasant music, delicious drinks and snacks.

Staff were nice both in reception and the restaurant, food was OK, the place is too noisy, and its very dated I would have been disappointed if I was the person picking up the bill.

A buffet breakfast is served weekly in the hotel's breakfast room for everyone and a brunch four times a year. What is particularly pleasing – provided the weather plays along – are the fantastic views over the Rhine plain, which you can enjoy from 8 or 9 September. can enjoy from floor. The breakfast room itself is generously sized, though in a stylish retro look, but well-kept enough for it. For only 41 € per person you can indulge in brunch pleasure. The service is always endeavouring to provide guests with perfect and friendly service. Coffee and tea are available at the fully automatic machine, which gives the coffee a certainly acceptable, but only acceptable, taste. The highlight of brunch is clearly lunch – disappointment for cereal lovers, because this corner is completely missing. But don’t worry, instead there’s antipasti, a slim salad corner and a variety of chicken and shrimp varieties, as well as desserts in the form of fruit, cake and mousse. Emsig refills everything and it looks quite appetizing. But unfortunately nothing was found to justify the proud price; from the use of material it was more reminiscent of a well-stocked discount display. Now you might think I wasn't entirely satisfied. Especially because I am a vegetarian and my choices were very limited. Particularly exhilarating was the reference to my question about whether there were vegetarian/vegan options specifically, to the not exactly brimming with vitality steamed vegetables. You might think that vegetarians/vegans are not constantly happy with an 800 kcal diet – they need proteins, and not too tightly: about 30-40g per meal. Achieving this with steamed vegetables, perhaps, requires an estimated 800g – and taking a whole bowl for yourself would also be somewhat striking. So, as an omnivore, you can go to brunch, but you don't have to. As a vegetarian or even vegan, the advice is crystal clear: let it go.
