Hotel Zur Goldenen Sonne

Unlike other hotels in Germany at which we stayed during this trip, the gentleman at reception greeted us warmly and was thorough in explaining the various room types. We opted for a premium room because it came with a little fan and had 2 big windows. In the end, it didn’t matter much as the heat wave was relentless. The room felt like an oven but was sparkling clean, huge by European standards and well appointed. The same gentleman helped us carry our luggage from the parking lot at the back up to our room. All our interactions with him were quite pleasant. This young man is a definite asset to this establishment. The place was very quiet as only a few rooms were booked during our stay. Would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

We booked through the online platform a night without breakfast. 3 people with a dog. When we arrive the receptionist has difficulty understanding both German and English. The room was not made clear with the extra decoration. When I made the receptionist aware of this, he seemed incomprehensible that the upgrade with a synthetic blanket and no head pillow was too bad. But save the bed. Next morning we had to leave early. Here it turned out that there were several errors in earnings. It took close to 20 minutes to check out. But the staff on the morning team, was super cute. And we got everything under control. Then an extra star for the morning team.

Friendly welcome and friendly staff. Nice large room overlooking the square in front. Great beds, good plumbing. The breakfast was excellent and well organized.. good parking at the back of the hotel. Walking distance from the market.
