First visit as a result of internet search.
Meißen as an overnight place for planned visit to Dresden.

Value for money****
The hotel is opposite the train station (good for us), and on the opposite side of the Elbe from the city center/old town.
On the one hand, this means the typical "flair" close to the station. On the other hand, the nearly 15 minutes across the Elbe are not a real sporting challenge.
The rooms of the (upscale?) Category on the "courtyard side" are very successfully renewed; the solution to optically conceal the old building height is unusual.
The bathroom was also very modern. Since renovated in the existing but very small, the shower cabin for a "full size" like me unfortunately borderline...
Beds very good; both in terms of mattresses and pillows.
Elevator!
Hotel's own parking behind the hotel.
Breakfast upper middle class. Everything there.
Staff super nice.
Restaurant seems permanently closed. Too often normal these days.
Overall great feel-good factor.

The hotel is directly opposite Meißen train station, separated from the old town by the Elbe. It is about a twenty-minute walk there, unfortunately quite uncomfortable, directly along a main road.
What was surprising was that the reception is no longer manned after 4 p.m. The description for accessing the key cards helped us to get into the hotel without any problems. The new building, which extends to the inner courtyard and parking lot, is quite functional, but overall rather cramped. The single rooms and the beds in them are also quite small, while the bathroom is reasonably spacious. Unfortunately, the rooms do not have amenities such as water, a kettle or a coffee machine.
The breakfast was OK, but the selection and quality were not particularly good.
When checking out, we unfortunately had problems with the bill, which could neither be printed nor changed, so we could not pay it in the hotel - very strange and not entirely understandable for us.
The hotel's advantages are the low price, the quiet location of the rooms in the new building and the proximity to the train station. I was a little disappointed by the impersonal check-in and check-out and the overall very sober atmosphere without much flair.
