Hotel Villa Gropius

Our stay at this four-star hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. The exterior grounds already made an unkempt impression: tall weeds, bicycles left lying around, and damaged furniture storage. The first room was unacceptable to us – spiders and cobwebs, a musty smell, as well as mold in the bathroom. Only after complaining twice did we receive a room that corresponded to the booked category and was cleaner. However, there was no apology or sign of accommodation at any time. The service was particularly disappointing. Despite prior inquiry about gluten-free breakfast options, the staff knew nothing about it the next morning. Instead of a solution, I was asked to buy something myself at the supermarket – completely incomprehensible for a four-star hotel from our perspective. The hotel showed no goodwill regarding other requests either. Overall, we did not feel valued as guests. We did not even receive a response to our subsequent complaint via email to the management. Too bad – the hotel's location is good, but unfortunately, the cleanliness, service, and handling of justified criticism did not convince us at all.

Breakfast is very good. Great cheese selection, mett, sausage, salads, cereal, fresh fruit, tea selection . Excellent filter coffee. Daily newspaper, but unfortunately not from the place here. The rooms are cozy with balcony. Bathroom with make-up mirror. Sauna with organic and normal. Bathrobes for a fee , 5 euros. Parking for 12 euros directly at the house. Especially in today's times: daily housekeeping without special requirements

We stayed one week at Hotel Villa Gropius, our experience was consistently positive. Arrival at 10 am. Despite check in from 3 pm it was no problem to park the vehicle in the hotel's car park s hon at 10 am. Good!! must the local parking fee of 12 euros be charged? The guest would certainly feel good if a hotel rate was offered here. Rooms were clean and perfectly ok. The bathroom was well equipped, toiletries were provided by the hotel. Coffee for the morning wake-up was available in the room. Balcony for two people completely sufficient, so we could sit there in the evening comfortably to smoke. Note!! The bistro tables should be changed. In these, literally, the varnish was off and they made a rotten impression. So exchange urgently. Staff very friendly and helpful in all areas. Breakfast was plentiful, scrambled eggs, bacon, fish, various kinds of cold cuts, rolls, bread etc. plentiful. On another holiday in Timmendorf we will check in here again.
