Maritim Seehotel

I had booked two nights in a Superior Plus room on the lake side (number 217) for the price of 847 euros. Unfortunately, this room, which has a beautiful sea view, was very worn out, and the price-performance ratio was not acceptable. Terrible-looking radiators ran along the floor, the lever to the balcony door threatened to fall off at any moment, and the door handle to the bathroom needed to be replaced. In response to my complaints, a bottle of sparkling wine and an apology letter were brought to my room. At least, a plus point. The staff at the hotel, in the restaurant, and at the bar were very friendly and attentive!! Otherwise, I would have only given two points. I had spoken with other guests who had the same experience with their rooms. The management of the hotel group needs to intervene here urgently!!

We were unfortunately only there for one night in this certainly not the most beautiful hotel, if one were to look at it (only) from the outside. But appearances can be deceiving: Friendliness is still a top priority here; customer orientation is not just a word. For example, on the occasion of my better half's birthday, I asked if it might be possible to put a candle on the table at breakfast. Of course, this request was taken into account; we received a nice table as well as a small gift - thank you very much! But upon arrival, we were already spoiled with an upgrade to a penthouse suite, and all of it was super friendly, but without overemphasizing this friendliness. You can feel this attentiveness at all times. The hotel has large outdoor and indoor pools, a bar on the beach, and the restaurant is impressive in its quality and charm. Here, the guest is still king, and you feel transported back to the good old days in the best sense. The location is captivating - it doesn't get more Timmendorf than this. Thanks to this remarkable hotel!

Another stay, this time a room with a direct ocean view - wonderful. The hotel is located directly on the Baltic Sea beach, right next to the newly renovated pier (it was a construction site during my last visit). You can tell in some places that the hotel is older. In the elevator, the display shows the year of construction as 1968. Of course, it has been modernized a few times since then. However, the elevator in particular is annoying because it is veeeery slow. There is even a special sign in every hallway stating that you should expect longer wait times for the elevator, especially during meal times. That says a lot. The staff is very nice and helpful. Infused water with changing fruits is always available for free at the reception. Each room also receives a bottle of still water for free every day. The rooms are being modernized little by little; I had a modernized one, another participant at our conference had an old one. Unfortunately, the electrician did not think about how the room is used. I had a twin room. There are three (ancient) light switches by the door (bathroom, hallway, and the rest). For the "rest" switch, there is a counterpart on the left nightstand. This turns off all the lamps, including both nightstand lamps!!!. That means if I want to sleep and someone next to me wants to read, it is not possible. Because there is a cover on the right side of the nightstand, but no switch. The bedside lamp is therefore useless. Furthermore, the cable feed on the floor lamp was not okay (see picture). While showering, I noticed the mold on the edge of the bathtub negatively. I also reported both to the reception upon departure. At the desk, there are many power outlets, a coffee machine, and a stocked minibar. The restaurant turned out to be poorly suited for the conference. There was a salad, fish, and dessert buffet and one (!) hot dish at a small food serving area. The hot side dishes were also only available there. With around 100 participants, the line was corresponding.
