Hotel and Restaurant Gartenstadt

We had reserved for a birthday dinner for the family and were there 3 weeks before for a tasting. At that time, it was still a quite extensive menu. The schnitzel ordered was very thin and totally dry, but the antipasti was very appealing and delicious, and the pizzas and pasta dishes of the other guests looked very good and were praised by the guests. The birthday dinner was yesterday, Saturday. The menu was totally thinned out. As main courses, there were only 4 pizzas, 5 pasta dishes, and 3 meat dishes left, of which the roulades were not available to order. There was, however, a quite large selection of appetizers. Unfortunately, the menu was not viewable online in advance. A table for our reservation of 10 people was not set, and we had to ask multiple times for the table to be wiped down first. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 antipasti platters, 1 salad with shrimp, 1 salad with calf's liver, 2 penne bolognese, 1 pasta with aioli, and a vegan pasta dish. After 25 min. we were informed that there was no calf's liver for the salad. When the food was brought, the vegan food was mixed with cheese, the shrimp on the salad were cold and unseared, the pizzas were without the specified mozzarella, and instead of the pasta with aioli, a salad was brought. These mistakes were of course corrected and the vegan dish was replaced. The server tried to take all of this humorously and lightheartedly and also apologized multiple times due to a lack of staff, but a small apology in the form of a coffee or a small drink was not offered. So it was a disappointing dinner and we will probably not come back. Too bad

I returned to this hotel on May 2nd, 2024 for the first time in 10 years and was so disappointed, never, never again!!! First of all, a room that hadn't been cleaned, then I was immediately given another decent room. Then the TV didn't work, which was fixed the next day by a nice employee. No apology from the owner, it can all happen under the motto that you don't have to make a fuss, a bit condescending. Very old, dirty flooring in the breakfast room, disgusting! Next time I will definitely not be back! There are definitely better accommodations in Erfurt in this price category!!!!!

Hello, I booked two double rooms for four people in August from December 9th to December 10th, 2023. I received a reservation confirmation. On the day of arrival, the hotel was locked. There were two phone numbers on the door that you should call to check in if you have any problems. A gentleman answered the phone and told me that an access code to open the door had been sent to me by email. But I didn't receive it. The second problem was that only one room had been reserved. The booking confirmation was correctly issued for four people and two double rooms. I received the answer that the hotel was overbooked. They then looked after alternative accommodation, but it deviated from the room standard booked. For example, there was no breakfast included. When we asked, we were directed to a discount store. Something like this has never happened to me before. I cannot recommend this hotel. Never again.
