Steigenberger Hotel Thuringer Hof

For many years, the Vienna House Thüringer Hof Eisenach has been our first choice around the Rennsteiglauf. This year, we were allowed to be guests here for the 14th time. We feel warmly welcomed every time anew. A big thank you goes to the wonderful staff at the reception, who always greet us with kindness, attentiveness, and genuine warmth. The team at breakfast also ensures a perfect start to the day every morning. One can feel everywhere how much commitment and hospitality is put into the work here. Our room was once again excellent, very clean, comfortable, and prepared with great attention to detail, including a nice handwritten welcome note on the first day. Our room was the perfect place to feel comfortable and relax. Many thanks to the entire team for the many wonderful stays and the special atmosphere that this hotel has provided for us for years. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Eisenach in 2027!

I have traveled extensively across Europe and this was the worst hotel experience I have had, no exceptions. The staff was completely unhelpful and rude. They have parking but it will not accommodate anything beyond a very small car. We asked to check in and were refused. Finding parking in the city was a nightmare. We asked for directions, but the directions we were given were wrong. A pleasant local finally helped us, so we were able to find a parking garage. We then had to haul our luggage 1/2 a mile. The hotel could have 1) let us check in so we did not haul our luggage 2) gotten a map out and circled where parking was 3) had a valet 4) even held on to our luggage when we found parking. They then asked when we finally got there about 45 mins later… how was everything… I said not great… they then proceeded to talk about us in German in front of us. Luckily we only stayed one night. We have visited 5 other hotels in Germany alone, the rest were all amazing…. A low point in an otherwise great trip.

Very clean rooms, tastefully decorated and spacious. Staff were conspicuously friendly and accommodating, whether at the reception, restaurant or cleaning. In addition, really a delicious breakfast offer with many vegan and gluten-free options. Really nothing to complain about 😍 we had an all-round successful weekend here
