Cafe & Restaurant Waldschlosschen - Hostel

Very delicious Thuringian food. The cosy beer garden invites you to linger. The dining room is also comfortably furnished. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. The café is also more than recommended. We will come back when we are in the area.

Very nice hotel and restaurant a bit off in a quiet location. Rooms are very nicely decorated so you feel at home here. Everything very clean and tidy. The food is excellent and the service friendly and on Zack. Breakfast I can't judge have not used it.

We were over a long weekend in Friedrichroda and were curious by the many cars in front of the building. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met by the restaurant, staff or food. Although the old restaurant is lovingly decorated, this does not disguise the old building fabric and the outdated furnishings. The friendly staff unfortunately seems very played and untrustworthy. In my opinion, the food is very much determined by conveniant from the freezer, which is refreshed by fresh salads. The meat was very well prepared, but the taste of the sauces was rather thyme-heavy and I personally did not like it. In addition, a chef should know that potatoes with skin (so-called wedges) contain toxic glycoalkaloids and these can accumulate in the liver and possibly lead to severe poisoning and liver damage. The prices called for these convenience-based dishes are definitely too high. From my point of view, you want to play at a gastronomic level that is far away from reality. In addition, charging 🍺 5,80 euros for 0.5 liters of non-alcoholic beer is an outrage. Not even the hosts at Oktoberfest dare to do that.
