Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre

Not sure what more they would need to do for some people to leave a 5 star review. Everything was ideal Friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was modern, clean, spacious with good strong and quiet air conditioning. The mattresses were comfortable. The only feed back would be, that like all hotels with oversized beds, they put oversized pillows on it to look aethetically right, but i find them too big to be comfortable. That's me being super picky though. The bathroom was modern, clean and yes it had a shower hose over the bath, but the water pressure was very powerful. I stayed in Athens for 5 days. Ate out everyday, but nowhere was run nearly as well as the breakfast room. The staff were pleasant, polite and very helpful. They moved very efficiently, almost unnoticed, but everywhere was cleaned and dressed as soon as a table was vacated, making room pleasant and comfortable to have breakfast whilst enjoying the views from the picturesque windows. I was a little unsure about the location when I booked as it is a little way out of the absolute centre, the there were buses, trams and metro within a few minutes walk, so location was actually fine.

We had a wonderful family stay at the hotel for 4 nights while visiting Athens. The location was convenient (for both trains and taxis), breakfast fantastic, and the staff and hotel management were helpful. The double bed rooms are good for families.

Overall nice, quiet hotel with friendly and welcoming staff both at the front desk and in the restaurant. Positives - Quiet, spacious hotel - Friendly staff - High quality and varied breakfast - Good location Requires Improvement - Rooms have a dated feel and a “smoked in” smell to them which is hard to ignore - Smoke alarm positioned directly above the bed and blinks / flashes red 24/7 - Rooftop pool is very small and right next to the restaurant. Poor positioning and poor size - Restaurant evening staff very slow to serve I would stay again if just for a few nights due to the overall friendliness of the staff and high quality breakfast
