Appalling treatment on the Apollonia beach . This is a five star hotel with website offering exclusive access to private beach but the reality is that it is not private and the only exclusion is as to guests of the hotel . On this Sunday all six rows of umbrellas from the sea to the road were exclusively reserved for non hotel guests . The representation that there is exclusive access to private beach with premium facilities is untrue ; the umbrellas were all reserved for non hotel guests and the beach attendants were rude and disrespectful. Anyone believing that they are getting exclusive access to private beach with premium facilities is going to be extremely disappointed.

I booked an Ocean View Suite, expecting exactly what was advertised. Instead, I was given a tiny room facing a busy street that looked nothing like the photos or description. When I questioned it, the staff actually insisted that this was a suite, despite it clearly not matching what I had reserved. What made the experience even worse was how unprofessional the staff handled the situation. Rather than resolving the issue, I was passed from one manager to another for hours. Eventually, they offered to “upgrade” me, as if they were doing me a favor, but the room they offered was still below the standard of the Ocean View Suite I had originally booked. The room I received simply did not match the hotel’s advertised images or the reservation I paid for. Because of this, I stayed only one night and checked out early. Even after explaining that the accommodations were materially different from what had been advertised, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights or take any responsibility for the misleading listing. For a hotel marketed as a 5-star luxury property, this level of customer service and honesty is unacceptable. I expected professionalism, transparency, and accommodations that matched what was sold. Instead, I experienced misleading advertising, poor customer service, and a complete lack of accountability. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.

We have been annual customers of the Divani Apollon Hotel for more than 30 years and this year we decided to try the Divani Escape Suites across the street. It is advertised as "adults only" and offers larger rooms, at the expense of the hotel's lovely views. Kept thinking the name "escape" may be appropriate to describe what you feel like doing once you experience this property that advertises itself a luxury property. The rooms are not quite what you see in the pictures. The lobby is modern and lovely, but the rooms are tired and worn. We had reserved a king (double in their language) suite - we are given a one with two twin beds pushed together. When we ask why we got a room with two twin beds, we are told that "king beds are based on availability." There are apparently no such rooms so the housekeeping staff come and put a cover over the two beds to make them look like a king bed. Kinda works though the beds have tendency to separate. The morning after our arrival begins with the shower experience. There is no overhead shower, just a shower handle you have to insert into the fixture on the wall. Well, the fixture is broken so you shower holding the handle. OK, but then the soap and conditioner containers affixed to the wall are empty. So you wash with the shower gel. Not a tragedy, certainly an inconvenience. Then you notice the armchair next to the balcony door in the morning light. It is so dirty and worn out that not sure anyone would knowingly sit in it. You ask for them to either change the room or change the chair. Housekeeping takes the cushion to clean and leaves the chair. We have to then ask for them to remove the entire chair. Then we want to use the gym. It is closed and you have to go across the street to the hotel. When will it open? Tomorrow. The sign on the gym door has been there for 3 days so let's see. Last year the hotel sent us across to this property as the new gym they built opened only at 10:00AM. It would be so good for the family that owns the Divani to finally sell it to an international hotel chain that knows how to manage a luxury property. That "escape" would be so much better than the image that word conjures for at least one of its regular customers.
