Ilissos

This hotel is FAR FROM 5 stars . I think staying in a hostel would have been better. It’s outdated, not clean , and the amenities are nonexistent someone needs to update the website to what this place really is!!

Starting with the positives, the hotel staff are really friendly and serviceminded. The cleanliness is good and the breakfast is ticking all the must have boxes. However the hotel is a bit dated when it comes to the interior, and the soundproofing from the corridors is poor. If these are things you can live with the hotel is kind of good value.

Before we flew home after 2 weeks exploring Greece, we stayed here for a night to serve as 'buffer' in case any of our plans might be hampered by any delay (fortunately not). From the looks of it, the place seems old, maybe built in the 1960s. Despite this, it still delivered good service even if the location was not that desirable. It is about a 15-minute walk to the nearest Metro station (Sygrou-Fix) and no bus passes directly along its road. Our room was pretty standard -- 2 single beds joined together with comfy pillows and blanket. There was TV, minibar, in-room safe, kettle, free wifi, free coffee and tea but no complimentary mineral water. Water pressure is good, AC control adequate. Buffet breakfast was average: slices of cold-cut meats, cheese, salads, cereals, breads, etc. but no fresh fruits. If you do not mind to be in an area far from Plaka or Monastiraki then this property fits the bill.
