Theoxenia Palace Hotel

We booked two nights in Xenia Palas in Kifisia and before arrival we specifically asked if the sauna works. We were assured by phone that it works normally. When we arrived and wanted to use it, we were informed that it had been damaged for three days. I find it unacceptable to give misinformation about something so specific. In addition, we mentioned that the bed rubbed strongly and was not at all comfortable, but there was no substantial response or interest in solving the issue. Finally, the list of the mini bar did not state the price for the water of 500ml, and at the check-out we were charged 4€ for two bottles, without a clear mention of costs. The lack of transparency is something that disturbs me especially. The hotel can be classified as 5 stars, but based on our own experience, the service and treatment do not correspond to this level. I put 1 star because I do not like misinformation and indifference to the customer

Hotel built in 1927, with undeniable Art Deco charm. However, the sound insulation leaves something to be desired. The bedding consists of firm mattresses. The breakfast is classic, without any notable particularity. On the other hand, the cleaning service clearly does not live up to the standards expected of a 5-star palace.

Not worth spending a lot of words on. Once it was luxury, however, horribly outdated now. Disappointing. Neighborhood is nice.
