Piraeus Theoxenia Hotel

A terrible experience, a very dirty place. They pass it off as 4-5 stars, I didn't really understand why, just because they have marble at the entrance. An unsuitable guy shows up at check-in with sneakers that are all torn and dirty. Then to charge me €25 in cash because I was with my 4-year-old daughter and I couldn't stay in a double room, and up to here they are right. But besides taking the money for the supplement without a receipt, he charged another €25 to my card without telling me. To me this is stealing!!! Very dirty rooms, small hairs on the sheets and on the chair, corners and carpet dirty. It is not a 4-star hotel, to me it has 2 stars. Poor breakfast, most people were using plastic cups for breakfast. Everything is old in that hotel. It was 4/5 stars maybe 30 years ago. There are bed and breakfasts that are much nicer and cleaner, I assure you. I didn't take other photos but it would have been better to take them and post them. For me, never again. As far as the supplement is concerned, for me it could have even been €100, but fairness comes first.

Above all, avoid the Pirea Theoxenia Palace. Hotel qualified as a 5* Palace, worthy of a 2*. Old-fashioned hotel, rooms very different from the photos, very cramped shower, not very clean with broken soap holder and door handles, pool "unavailable" at the end of June 26 without us having been warned since our booking in March!!!, Non-existent welcome (except for the night watchman who welcomed us and the young lady who did our check-out); the others, hidden behind the computer screen without even lifting their heads to say hello, and who grumble at you when you "dare to kindly ask for info about the "unavailable" pool!" On the other hand, pleasant breakfast with nice and polite servers. Too bad because it is well located in a quiet area and a 10-minute walk from the ferries.

I am very disappointed with my stay at the Piraeus Theoxenia Hotel. This establishment does not meet the standard of a 5-star hotel in any way. Carpets and furniture are outdated and partially dirty, there is no shelf in the shower, the bathroom door is scratched, and the towels appear old and not at the level of a luxury hotel. For me, the hotel does not deserve its 5 stars. I would not visit it again and cannot recommend it further.
