Elinotel Apolamare

Sadly, this was the worst all-inclusive holiday I’ve experienced in over 40 years of travelling abroad. Having always trusted TUI, this holiday was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The problems started before we even arrived. Our airport transfer, advertised as around 1 hour 20 minutes, actually took nearly 3 hours with an unexpected coach-to-minibus change. When we finally reached the hotel, there was almost no food left despite evening service only being underway for about an hour. The food throughout the week was dreadful. There was no butter for the first three days, breakfast was consistently poor, toast was only available once, and on our final morning there was no milk for cereal, no milk in the coffee machine and no fruit juice. We ended up spending around £600 per couple eating and drinking outside the hotel just to enjoy our holiday. The drinks were equally disappointing. Soft drinks were often little more than fizzy water, bottled water wasn’t replenished daily as promised, cocktails were poor, and on our final day beer and cocktails were even served in takeaway coffee cups. Our “garden view” room overlooked a road with only a small glimpse of the sea – there were no gardens at all. Housekeeping was poor, with used towels simply folded and put back, dead mosquitoes left on the bathroom walls for the entire week, ineffective air conditioning in 32°C heat, and maintenance issues that were reported but never fixed. Cleanliness across the hotel was well below standard. Dirty crockery and cutlery were common, rubbish was left around the pool for hours, weeds grew between the paving, and hygiene standards in the restaurant were concerning. Safety also appeared to be an afterthought, with poor supervision around the pool and broken glass not always clearly marked while being cleaned up. This hotel bears no resemblance to the five-star resort being advertised. Based on our experience, I would struggle to rate it even three stars. It’s disappointing because previous reviews were excellent, but the more recent reviews accurately reflect what we experienced. For the amount we paid (almost £1,400 per person), this represented extremely poor value for money. I cannot recommend this hotel in its current state and sincerely hope significant improvements are made before others book what should be a relaxing holiday. Needless to say, an official complaint has been raised with the tour operator!

Terrible service. We afe now 2nd dat at this hotel for two days as a family with two children, and our experience was very disappointing. On both days, we ordered sandwiches from the pool bar and had to wait over an hour for them to be served. We initially assumed the first incident was an isolated mistake, but the same thing happened again the following day. The pool area was not even crowded, making the delays even more difficult to understand. The housekeeping service was equally disappointing. If the cleaning staff arrived while you were in your room, they simply skipped it and never returned later in the day. As a result, our room was not cleaned. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. If you are looking for even a basic standard of service and hospitality, I suggest choosing a different place to stay.
