Galini Beach Eden

In Galini Eden rooms were dirty and smelly, full of mould, cleaned every day but not thoroughly. Restaurants which are in Galini Sea View are very high so a person with movement's problem won't manage. Food very good, the beach beautiful but quite far away and you have to walk through the bridge over a busy street.

The staff was really polite and helpful. Location is good as it's really close to the sea and Chania.Cocktails and wines are good. Lot of pools outside and inside, table tennis, 8 ball pool. It is a big hotel food was very good.

The hotel consists of several separate buildings, representing different standards. We were allocated in the 4* part of it, called the Galini Eden, room no 1212. It was not really a 4-star accommodation, but all in all, it was not too bad. Although it has recently been renovated, the age shows. The shower area had some room for improvement. The king-size bed was comfortable. The individually controlled Air Condition (free) worked fine. There was a safe box and a fridge provided as well (free). The view from the balcony was not offering any thrills, but we did not spend much time there anyway. Good WiFi internet in every room was free as well. A kettle to make tee or coffee was there, too. The room was cleaned and towels changed every day. The cleaning lady did a great job. It is worth mentioning that our last day of stay ended at noon, but our flight was late at night. We were able to extend the stay for an extra EUR40, but needed to relocate to a different room. This time it was no 2001, which I would not recommend for anyone to live in, except to store the bags and have a final shower after a day on the beach. The Air Con smelled bad and the shower area was not too good. The reception staff was very helpful and kind. Although we were told that the check-in starts only after 1400hrs, we got the room much earlier, thanks to some efforts of one of the Receptionists. Our special thanks go to Miss Sophia at the Guest Relations desk for her assistance with car hire and travel tips. We would never find out the Falassarna beach if it wasn’t for her guidance. Thanks! The main restaurant offered a great variety of all sorts of dishes. There was plenty of food and beautifully served, too. The staff was absolutely amazing! Every one of them kept moving constantly, taking care of the guests and doing it with politeness and big smiles. We felt pampered - Bravo! There were two a la carte restaurants there, which required advanced bookings. We tried both Italian and Chinese, which were decent. Both the pool bar and the beach bar were serving snacks throughout the day, but the quality was not too impressive. The better choice was to go to the main building restaurant for lunch, which required some walking. It must be emphasized that the hotel is located on a hill, so there are different levels of it, requiring one to use many stairs, some pretty steep. However, lifts are there, too – one just needs to walk about a bit. Hence, the hotel is not suitable for people with restricted mobility or children (which in our case was a blessing, because the noise level was much lower both at the pool sides and on the beach). Speaking of the beach, the hotel provides its own portion of the seaside for the residents, but it was really small and was rather congested. Not much privacy or quietness there. Still, it offered good access to the sea. Hotel animations and entertainment were not too attractive. There is nothing to do there in the evening. The village does not offer too much entertainment for the evening. There are some restaurants and bars nearby, but the area was pretty quiet in the evenings. For those who like to see some nightlife, a short trip by bus would take one to Chania (40–minute ride, every 20 minutes).
