Kokalas Resort

Absolutely fantastic stay at Kokalas. We used it as our base to explore the island by motorcycle. It’s a very short (2 min) walk to the beach and downtown. The staff (family run) are very nice, helpful and welcoming, the room and resort was very clean. Our shower/bathroom looked brand new, the pool as well. Breakfast (5 different choices) was perfect and consistent. I can highly recommend their barbeque on thursdays, great food and good vibes. Shoutout to Gianni, remember Lycurgus!

There is a friendly and good atmosphere at this small, nice hotel. It is clear that those who work here have good working conditions and have a nice relationship, which makes it a comfortable place to be, for us who are guests at the hotel. The rooms are clean, the food good and the hotel clean and nice. Perfect for families with children and the elderly. There are always free sunbeds at the pool. The family that runs the hotel invites their guests to a barbecue party every Thursday. For our part, it was the highlight of the holiday: delicious barbecue served on fine tables with white fabric. The family invited up to dance with Greek music. Our girls were trained in Greek dance steps by this nice family, which became a fun and nice experience. The owner's wife also had birthday on this day and served birthday cake to all guests. We have been to Crete many times but have never been to such a family hotel with such a good atmosphere. The only negative with the stay was that I got a very bad mattress with large spring springs that made it painful and weighed with every time I changed position. It made it impossible to sleep well. The rest of the family had beds that were totally ok, so I was unlucky. Otherwise I highly recommend the hotel.
