Odyssia Beach Hotel

The hotel is no longer brand new, but the air-conditioned rooms, as well as the public areas, are kept very clean (unless one causes chaos themselves, but the hotel cannot be blamed for that, can it?). From the reception to the dining room, the lounge bar, the shop, and the cleaning staff, all employees are very friendly, attentive, and quick. The spa is particularly noteworthy, as it is very nicely decorated. In my opinion, it receives too little attention. Anna is an angel and does an excellent job. One should not forget the discount from the reception on the spa services. The food is diverse, there is something for everyone, and the quality is good to very good. Those with special dietary requests may need to contact the hotel in advance; we did not have that and therefore cannot comment on it. The view while dining at the bar by the pool is a dream; you can see the sea from everywhere. A small disadvantage of the hotel: the bus transfer for arrival and departure does not start/end directly from the hotel because the road is too narrow. You are dropped off on the main street and have to walk with your luggage. Once you know it, it's not so bad; it's only about 200 meters, but if you arrive in the dark, it can be a challenge if you've never been there before. It is a few bus stops to downtown Rethymno, costing €1.20 for a one-way trip, tickets are available at the hotel shop. The bus was always full for us. In the area, there are several coffee shops, a butcher, restaurants, and bars. There are many more bars and restaurants in Rethymno, which can be reached after about 1 km of road or about 400 meters of beach. Taxis back are not that expensive either; we paid €6 from the end of the beach promenade.

The hotel is not the most modern. The staff is extremely nice, the rooms are clean and are cleaned daily. Be sure to pay attention to the room category when booking! We had a lovely vacation. Many thanks to the chefs, cleaning staff, service staff, and everyone who takes care of the guests.
