The syntopia is everything you’d hope for and more from a luxury aesthetic hotel!
The rooms are spacious and well decorated that give off that Mediterranean vibe. Lovely duel option shower room that has the rain head over top and the high powered hand nozzle to blast off the sun cream etc
The beds are large and comfortable and the aircon is freezing which is just how I like it.
The pool is beautiful with nice temperature water to cool off from the very hot weather that July brings.
The sun loungers are comfortable and spacious but like any other hotel you have to set your alarm to get the good ones even though the hotel says the pool doesn’t open till 8:00 I was still down there securing a good bed from 7:00 as if I didn’t you may not get one.
There are 3 pools, the main one which had a semi lively atmosphere, the one on the same level but at the back of the hotel which was a tranquil themed pool with spa like music and the roof top pool which had an Ibiza kinda vibe but that didn’t open till 10:00 and the pool was quite small but the roof is equally a aesthetic as the rest of the hotel.
The food was buffet style and had enough for what ever your taste is but don’t expect luxury dining as it’s just your standard canteen style food court. One thing to note is you have to book your slot at the restaurant which were 18:30-19:30 19:30-20:30 and 20:30-21:30 so if you don’t book it early enough you’ll be having an early dinner which for us was not ideal as there were people still in there bathing suits while other dressed nicely for dinner.
Each day had different entertainment from live bands, cello playing to a live DJ on Sundays around the main pool which plays solid for 6 hour ( maybe the hotel should give him a break half way or at least bring him drinks)
There is a nice boutique shop on site selling clothing, bags, hats and other souvenirs but was expensive
The gym was a nice size that catered for no more than 4 people at a time which had to be booked.
The equipment was more than enough with free weights up to 25kg along with some other resistance machines
One criticism of the hotel is that the spa was massively over priced €100 for a standard massage is a bit expensive in my opinion as we got the same deal down the road for half that price. The hotel need to pick the target audience, we paid £3000 for a week which may be a bit more than some can afford but not unattainable for the general population if they really wanted to go here however if they charged less for the spa they’d get a lot more business and the poor spa lady wouldn’t have to go around everyday touting for business which once people saw the price the politely declined
The bar/restaurant staff were amazing, they did everything to make you feel like you were important to them.
This stay was for our honeymoon and not that we were looking for preferential treatment but the hotel didn’t make much of an effort to make it feel like a honeymoon, all we were given was some honey in our room where as other around the pool were brought Prosecco and fruit for complaining about something. Would just have been nice to feel a bit more special
Over all I would highly recommend this hotel if you just want to chill in a beautiful setting. It quite far out from anywhere so do bare that in mind

Overall this has to be one of the most chilled hotels we’ve visited. Location - 10 mins from Rethymno and a short walk to a local beach. Atmosphere - Zen music is played by the pools everyday. (Sunday has a DJ). Rooms - Spotless. Has everything you need, bed is comfy, big shower with good pressure. Noise Level - crickets are present at all times, however adds to the background noise nicely. Service - efficient and with a smile. Pool boys by main pool were super quick. Pools - 3 pools. Main pool has plenty of sunbeds, although “floating beds” are reserved/taken by 8am. There are plenty of other beds available and the Jungle Pool always has space. Jungle pool was the best pool for me as it was so relaxed. Rooftop pool is more of a dip in and out pool, but we used the rooftop bar for drinks in the evenings occasionally (they put on a special gin night - sunset was sensational). Food - very high standard, enough choice for weeks stay, they do theme nights (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). Plenty of meats/fish, salads and desserts. Ice cream outside of lunch/dinner is €3.50 from one of the bar fridges. Drinks - everything you will need is all inclusive. Cocktails are frozen during the day (otherwise you have to pay), then after 5:30 the spritz’s are not frozen and free. Gym - Max 4 people, and enough equipment for 4 people to exercise adequately.

We had a truly wonderful holiday from start to finish. This hotel is a real haven behind its whitewashed walls, with a peaceful, relaxing retreat feel that made it easy to unwind from the moment we arrived.
Everything was faultless. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were beautifully presented, and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and tranquil, making it the perfect place to relax and recharge.
The location was ideal too, with several bars, restaurants, and shops just a short walk away. The stunning and charming Old Town was easily reached by a short bus ride or taxi, making it the perfect base to explore the area while enjoying the hotel's peaceful surroundings.
We left feeling completely refreshed and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended.
