Papadakis Apartments

Papadakis Apartments is one of those rare places where you don’t really want to leave a review for fear of it becoming too popular. Too late for that here, though. Based on the reviews we were reading we tried to book in 2024 at relatively short notice but couldn’t get a room. We booked earlier in 2025 and still couldn’t get the dates we wanted. Having just returned, we’ve already booked for 2026 and can’t wait to go back. These self-catering apartments are kept very clean by a small team who visit each room daily (except for Sundays). The bathrooms were in excellent condition having been recently refurbished. This winter (2025/26) the owners said they were going to refurbish all the bedrooms and kitchenettes (although we don’t know why – everything was fine!). The grounds are well-kept and awash with colour. We aren’t going to post any photos as those already here reflect 100% what Papadakis Apartments look like. There’s no pool but the beach (and sea) is only a 3-minute walk away (250m). In fact, everything seems to be no more than 5 minutes away. There are plenty of small supermarkets dotted around, and enough good restaurants that you can eat in a different place every day for two weeks. There’s an amazingly good café / patisserie (Basilakis) too which is – you guessed it – 3 minutes (200m) walk away from the apartment complex. Georgioupolis is a small coastal resort 40km to the east of Chania and 45km from the airport. It only has a population of around 2,500 people. It’s virtually flat in a Cretan landscape that is otherwise predominantly mountainous. It has sandy beaches and a great selection of bars and restaurants, but no night clubs. The loudest thing in Georgioupolis is the church which rings its bells on a Sunday morning – a small price to pay. You are probably reading this and thinking “really - how much are they paying him?”. All I can say is check out the other reviews.

We have been coming to Georgioupolis for 17 years, but we have never had such an excellent accommodation. Papadakis apartment is the best place for a nice holiday. The apartments are equipped with everything you need or could need and they are modernly furnished. They're above average clean. The apartments are located in a beautiful well-kept garden that invites you to stay at any time. Self-catering means you can taste your way through many taverns and cafes. You can decide for yourself when to e.g. For example, wants to have breakfast. Thank you very much for the nice stay.

Fantastic hotel! We had a 1 bed apartment rather than a studio and it was really spacious. Very comfortable and had everything we needed, plenty of hot water, well stocked kitchen for plates, pans etc. and enough to cook a few meals. Also, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, full size fridge and 2 ring hob. Bathroom was well designed and modern, clean plenty of fresh towels. Bed was super comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes. Cleaning was immaculate and the lady was lovely. The staff were all fantastic, helped when needed and offered great advice. Rena was so lovely! The location is very central but the apartments are well designed so you had privacy. Gardens are so beautiful! Next time we are in Georgioupolis we will certainly stay here! 100%recommended!
