Our experience was terrible from the start. We arrived after midnight only to find out the reception was not working. Instead, papers with our names, room info and directions to our room were taped to the inside of the reception glass door, and the keys to our room were left in the doorknob. Anyone could have seen this and entered our room, and the papers were left on the glass until morning. Furthermore, everything was written in English which we luckily knew, but what about people who don't know English? In the room, we did not even have water bottles waiting for us despite the fact you are advised to not drink tap water. We were forced to look for food and water in a place we have never been before at 1AM. From there, the problems just started to pile. If you do not feel like reading my whole review, I have categorized everything, but let me make it clear, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I return.
PROS:
Location & pool:
-The hotel is located right by the beach, and there is a pool which can be very convenient especially when there is a red flag for swimming in the sea.
Staff:
-Most of the staff is extremely friendly, and they do their best to make your stay pleasant. There are some exceptions, but I will not call out anyone since it is rude, and our general problem is with the hotel.
CONS:
Reception:
-Reception only works until 11PM. If you you need anything past that time, you're out of luck. Even when they are working, you practically have to beg for anything.
Room:
(Room layout and equipment, no wifi, almost no TV channels in English, lack of personal hygiene essentials, inadequate towels)
-The room we stayed in is advertised as a studio. It is actually a slightly modified hotel room with a sink and a portable stove top. I will not count the refrigerator since most regular hotel rooms now come with a fridge. You do not get a washing machine.
-There is a magnetic fob on the keys to the room which acts as a circuit breaker. When you leave your room, there's no electricity; therefore, you cannot leave the AC running.
-There are adequate kitchen utensils, plates and pots, but there is no dish washing soap or sponge. That is something that you have to buy. The freezer in the fridge does not freeze. Our ice cream melted.
-Two twin beds were pushed together to make a queen bed. This would constantly come apart during sleeping.
-There is no iron in the room. You have to ask for one. The hair dryer is ancient and does not even have the extension.
-During the duration of the stay, we had no wifi in the room. Even after complaining, the issue was not resolved. The receptionist said the router was reset, and there was nothing else they could do.
-Almost all the TV channels were in German, French or Greek. There was nothing in English or even an option for subtitles.
-The bathroom fan was broken and beyond noisy. There are only hooks for two towels and very few places to put your things. No toothpaste is offered. There is hand soap and shower gel/shampoo enough for one person. One has to practically beg for more. You get a face and shower towel per person. If you ask for more, they ask, "why?"
Food:
(The same every day and bad quality, utensils not the cleanest)
-You are warned to use gloves when grabbing food from the buffet very rudely, even though there aren't any signs instructing you to do so. While you are expected to wear gloves, there is often left-over food residue on the kitchen utensils from inadequate washing.
-Breakfast is the exact same every day, and it is of terrible quality. The main dish consists of plastic-like eggs, slimy bacon and miniature sausages. There are cereals and a few other foods to choose from, but generally, the selection is poor, or should I say of poor quality. Coffee, water and juice are available for drinks. Also, the website advertises breakfast from 7:00AM to 10:30AM. It is actually from 7:30AM to 10:00AM.
-Dinner: Dinner is virtually the same, as well. The difference is that one day the chicken is grilled, the next it's in a sauce, and so forth. The chicken breast is so dry, that it's difficult to cut and chew. Some days there is veal, and there are always a few other dishes to choose from; however, everything is of bare minimum quality. Drinks at dinner are only available for purchase. You are not even offered water.
-BBQ: On Saturdays the hotel makes BBQ for lunch; however, it is not complimentary. At first I thought this was a nice gesture and typical Greek hospitality that we are accustomed to, but it turned out there is an 8€ charge per plate.
-There is no drinking water (you should NOT drink tap water) or coffee available complimentary 24/7 like most hotels. Everything must be purchased. Again, filtered water is only available for breakfast. They go so far as to turn the water purifier around after breakfast so that no one will have access.
Pool/Beach:
-The showers by the poolside smell like sulfur.
-Beach chairs and sun umbrellas are available complimentary by the pool but must be paid for on the beach.

Wow, wow, wow. Being Greek and haven’t visit my Home Country in 18 yrs, and stayed at this amazing Hotel. Made me proud to be Greek American. Hospitality at its best. Authentic Greek food. Unbelievable ocean and views, and terrific Familly atmosphere. My Greek coffee was ready for me every morning thanks to Antonia, and Yannis the owner joined me for conversations and cocktails every evening. Definitely would recommend to anyone planning on visiting Crete.

Booked this hotel because of location closed to the beach and low price at September BUT.. food: still the same breakfast (after couple of days I didn't know what should I eat), lunch was poor (3 meals repeating + one toast lunch:), dinner acceptable. Small pool with green water with no access for children's. Nobody was using it even when the sea was closed due wind. When entering beach over the stairs there was flowing "material"from the WC sump (pity that I dont took a photo!) directly to the small "lake" on the beach. Sunshade closed to there. This was disgusting! At least the sea was there. Outside showers were smelled very bad (looked like the water was from sump). Room was in the good shape/clean. Air conditioning was old - smelled terribly - wasn't used. Wont book it anymore 100% sure.
