Yakinthos

Shame on you Atlantica Group - you have turned what was once a beautiful family run hotel into staff accommodation for your luxury all inclusive hotel next door. Not maintained, weeds growing everywhere, even shopping trolleys on the pool deck - not that the pool is filled. (It was lovely last year when I stayed again - 15 years of returning). I guess if you buy up all the small hotels in the area for the same purpose then there is no choice but to book your all inclusive hotel. The local family run restaurants will then suffer and, what was once a small idyllic village, will succumb to your capitalist gains.

Also forgot to mention in my previous review, the 2 lovely girls on reception, Anna and Leta. Always smiling and really helpful.

This is a nice small hotel. It is very clean. Has a good pool. There is a nice sandy beach very close by, very good restaurants within walking distance, small supermarket next door with larger shops further down the road and there is a frequent bus to Chania from outside the hotel.The breakfast same everyday but the choice is fine. The staff are friendly and the receptionist speak good English. They were very good when I was ill on the last day and allowed us to keep the room longer. My only reservations are that it has been taken over by a large group Atlantica with a resort hotel down the road. They have staff from both hotels living a at the Yakinthos and at times this did cause confusion and impact on the ambience of the hotel
