Chc Athina Palace Hotel Bungalows

We really liked the hotel ❤️. We had a great time. We went on a quad safari in the peninsula, it was amazing! We highly recommend it 😍😍

Positive: Room 704, Superior double room with sea view, -beautiful view, -balcony + 2 windows with sea view, -very large, -comfortable beds, -ample selection at breakfast & dinner, -beach water very clear, -breathtaking view from the resort, - Mini market, clothing store in the resort, -cheap bus ride to Heraklion, directly from the resort. -Fare is 4 euros each way / 8 euros round trip per person. -Friendly service staff at breakfast/dinner. Negative: -Room not 100% clean, -daily cleaning only very superficial. -Long walk to the beach if you go on foot, -from the beach to the room is very strenuous, steep hill, -beach bar closes at 5:45 PM, very unfortunate. -Food was always the same, I would have liked more variety, -drinks were unfortunately not good; alcoholic drinks tasted strongly of alcohol or were undrinkable; -limited selection of 4-5 cocktails in all-inclusive, -for the others you have to pay & they are not exactly cheap, soft drinks from hoses and in plastic cups, not worthy of 5 stars, we were disappointed because we know it differently from 5-star resorts. -Animation only in French, -at dinner, you go down a staircase and then the animation starts, -I think it was a song guessing game, -I find it inappropriate every evening, for 5 stars I would have liked live music. -Ice cream was very delicious; pizza at the bars was cold and the same every day. -Sun loungers at the beach are very old & cheap white-blue plastic loungers without cushions, I have never experienced that before. -Umbrellas are almost falling apart, a man repairs them; instead of being replaced. -Within walking distance, there is only a mini market nearby for everything else; taxi; bus; car. -Cutlery & plates not very clean; Conclusion: We enjoyed our vacation, especially the room is recommended. You won't starve or thirst, but the catering is not worthy of 5 stars. The resort is superficially beautiful, but if you look closely, it is not 100% clean & some things need to be renewed. The view is great. We would come back but not for the high price. A perfectly round stay

It was a last-minute vacation and we were not disappointed. Great facility, very attentive hotel staff, good food, great atmosphere, and super view. Unfortunately, the entertainment at the pool and in the evening was completely in French, which was a bit unfortunate, but still nice to watch even if nothing was understood. The room was clean, the bathroom as well. Water was refilled daily by the staff in the minibar. A big shout-out goes to Ianis. He drove the shuttle with a colleague, which transported guests between the lobby, pool, rooms, and the hotel's private beach. Super service, always friendly - thank you for that. We would love to come back!
