After reading the reviews on this hotel we were left somewhat deflated.
We certainly didn't capture the essence of wonder hospitality by the owners .
Be prepared to pay for AC for the room costing €35 per week , cash payment only !!!
Ensure you pack a beach towel otherwise a further cash payment of €7 will be made.
The little poolside fountain only got switched on for a limited time when family members came for the day .
The water jets were never switched on and the whole experience came across as very penny pinching.
There's a kettle and cups in the room but no tea or coffee so go prepared?
The rooms were very small and the showers tiny .
House keeping average.
On a positive note the pool was amazing as was the vista and they served the best cold beers .

We stayed as a couple for two weeks from 2nd June, our 5th holiday at the Korina, which was as good as the previous 4 holidays.
We loved the Korina from the first hour we arrived 4 years ago, and continue to love it.
The pool area during the day is relaxing, with ample comfortable sunbeds and bean bags, there is lots of sun and shade, depending on your preference. There is no rush for sunbeds, as plenty for everyone. The pool is a good size for swimming, or just cooling down in.
Lisa, the lady who cleans around the pool area is so hard working, keeping the area spotlessly clean.
The Olive Tree bar serves a great variety of drinks and snacks during the day at reasonable prices and big portions, there is also a selection of ice creams/ ice lollies.
We will never get tired of the beautiful views from the pool of the mountains and surrounding area.
The breakfast is amazing, with lots of choice, all pastries are home made, they are delicious with different varieties, sweet and savoury. The breakfast staff are very attentive and efficient, thank you Athena and Eva for your helpful service and also 10 out of 10 to the chef!
We love the vibe of an evening, chatting in the bar with the owners Sofia and Dimitris, with Athena too, and also other friendly guests, who like a chat and banter, and a few drinks. This is a special time when friends are made and many drinks are drunk. Thank you Dimitris for my lovely pink gin, lots of ice, lemonade and strawberries, yummy! Nick says thank you for the beer in ice cold glasses, with no strawberries 😂. Thank you Richard and Jill/Gill, Derek and Kathy/Cathy for your company and banter.
This hotel is a very special place, where guests are treated as friends, whether you are a first timer or a returning 2, 5, 10 or 20 year guest. Everyone is made to feel special, with nothing being too much trouble. Sofia, is a font of all knowledge of Thassos, and will help with places to visit, cars to rent, booking of restaurants or anything else. She is amazing.
I always have a massage, which I can totally recommend and suggest is a necessity, Stefan is a qualified physiotherapist and very knowledgeable and professional, with the massage well worth the cost.
Thank you to everyone at the Korina who makes holidays a special and memorial experience. You are all brilliant. We will see you again, very soon.

We have just returned from a wonderful two-week stay at this absolute gem of a hotel. As so many others have already said, the staff here truly go above and beyond to look after you.
I have coeliac disease, and to be honest, Greece can generally be a bit challenging when it comes to gluten-free requirements. However, I had notified Sophia in advance, and when I arrived for my first breakfast, I was delighted to find gluten-free bread and cereal waiting for me, alongside delicious fruit, yoghurt, eggs, and cheese.
One day into our second week, the cereal ran out. One of the lovely breakfast ladies actually walked around town until she found a shop selling gluten-free cereal, just so I would have it the next day! Believe me, having spent two weeks trying to find gluten-free provisions around town myself, I know this was no mean feat. That level of care is incredibly rare.
The hotel pool is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and incredibly refreshing. Our room was likewise immaculate; we truly could not fault a single aspect of our stay.
Even on our last morning, when we went downstairs bleary eyed to get our coach at 6.45AM, breakfast boxes were ready alongside hot tea, coffee, and juice. Sophia was there herself, bright and early, to see us off and thank us for staying. It genuinely felt like we had spent a couple of weeks with family or friends.
It’s no surprise that the hotel has so many returning customers, and we really enjoyed chatting and making friends with many of them during our stay.
While I respect that everyone has their own opinions, I honestly struggle to understand some of the negative reviews I’ve read. Perhaps some people are looking for a strict, starchy, corporate hotel experience. Hotel Korina, on the other hand, treats you like dear friends visiting for a holiday—and I know which one I would prefer!
Thank you, Sophia, and your wonderful family and staff, for an unforgettable two weeks.
