I was very disappointed with my stay at Barbara Studios.
After travelling all night, I arrived exhausted and was told to sit at a table because my room was not ready. Before I could even check in, I was asked to pay the local tourist tax, which didn’t feel like a very welcoming start. Then I had to drag my luggage through a long dirt track to get to my room.
The room was clean when I arrived, but it was not cleaned at all during the first four days of my stay. By Wednesday evening, I had to ask for clean towels because I had been using the same ones for four days.
The Wi-Fi in room 124 did not work at all during my stay, which was very frustrating. I was also surprised to find that air conditioning costs an extra £9 per day, an additional charge that should be made much clearer before booking.
The bathroom was poorly maintained, with a cracked plastic bowl used to wash clothes, and there was no shower gel or any basic toiletries provided. The TV was very old, and the sun loungers were in the same poor condition. The bed was also very hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.
The other thing I did not know when I booked was that there are planes taking off all day till late at night and even if you have a balcony you can’t stay out at night because the mosquitoes are vicious. I covered myself in spray but that did not help at all so I ended up with lots of bites. But this is just to be aware before booking.
Overall, the accommodation fell below my expectations in terms of comfort, maintenance, and service. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it unless these issues are addressed

Great holiday, lovely family owners, rooms basic but OK. Gardens and pool area very nice. Couldn't understand why climate tax
had doubled from 2€ a night last yearto 4 this yearwith no upgrade to facilities

On arrival no one was there to greet us, reception not in sight. It took a maid to inform us that we needed to go to the pool bar around the side of the building. Once there the owner told us to leave our cases at the front and asked us to sit at a table, handover our passports and to pay the tax. She informed us that it would be another 20 minutes before we could have the room. She then placed a list of rules on the table. As you can see our initial experience was not good.
The good points were that the room although basic was good with a nice sized balcony and the pool bar was good.
The pool itself was a good size, however the sunbeds were years old and really uncomfortable and hard to get up from. This spoilt our holiday as we always spend most of our time around the pool.
