Marias Garden Villas

Arrived 11pm but the very helpful owner had messaged us to say we could gain access immediately. There was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us-a great gesture. The apartment was good. It's quite small but the beds were ok. There was a kettle and a toaster and a small electric plug in cooker which was a little slow to heat up but was ok for very modest meals like pasta. The fridge was a good size and exactly what is needed. There were a few pots and pans and cooking equipment. The bathroom has a small shower. There was always hot water but it was very cramped and the shower head fitting kept falling off. It was not repaired even though we mentioned it on the first day. Fresh towels were provided regularly which was a very positive thing. Storage was fine once we asked for and received more hangers. There was a table and chairs outside and in and we loved having breakfast outside. The A/C was good. The pool was quiet but great after a walk up hill. Views were excellent but you are high up above Lassi. It took around 15 minutes to walk down to the main street and around 20 minutes to walk up and it was cerytainly steep! At night it was ok but in the day it was tough. The sister hotel was easy to find following the path uphill in the car park. Then turn right. The sun loungers there were great quality and the pool was much bigger. You can get breakfast there with a buffet but we did not choose to eat there. I must mention the well maintaind gardens around the apartments. Lovely colours adding to the views. The path upwards also allowed us a quicker, downhill route to Argostoli. This is an easy walk with good views over the lagoon. We used to take a taxi back. In summary we loved the views. We liked the staff and our young room cleaner was friendly and helpful. The bottle of wine was a nice touch. Our only negatives were ants in the kitchen.

The view from our apartment was amazing! Best feeling in the world. Situated slightly uphill (easy walk for most but not to some), apartment was as listed, air conditioner worked all the time during our stay and the rooms and towels were cleaned and changed everyday. Maria, the host, was the best. She helped us a lot with our inquiries here and there. It was a last minute holiday but glad we did it. The place was so peaceful that I was so sad to leave.

Fantastic 10 night stay at Maria’s Garden apartments. We found Georgia on Dionysos reception so helpful with our numerous queries prior to arrival and arranging our airport transfers and we’re so glad we chose to stay here. The two bed apartment we stayed in was perfect for our family of 4 and was kept spotlessly clean by the hard working cleaners. The view from the balcony was stunning and watching the sunset of an evening was a real highlight. The pool at the apartments was always quiet and has lots of sunbeds, seating and shade. We could also use the facilities of Dionysos hotel (5 min walk go through path at top of apartment car park & turn right on road) which had a great pool and bar the food here was excellent and great value for money. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Lassi which has a great selection of restaurants, bars and beaches or 30 mins to Argostoli which is much busier and has a great harbour area where you can do boat trips and see the fabulous sea turtles in the mornings. We took the boat over to Lixouri which was nice to explore and only costs 3 euros. All in all a fabulous stay and we can’t wait to return! Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so memorable.
