We had booked an apartment with extras through "Schauinsland" and, to make a long story short, we can only advise against it!
Service:
Very nice, helpful staff, especially at the reception and in the cleaning service.
Restaurant staff partly disinterested, apathetic. We had to get the coffee pot and dishes for the third person ourselves. In the evening, table runners with paper napkins.
Table assignment at dinner!
The room cleaning was excellent, towels changed daily.
The overall cleanliness in the hotel was very good.
We had an apartment with extras, as well as two bedrooms, a refill every two days
of the refrigerator with soft drinks, water, and beer included, and this also worked.
Welcome drink – none.
Overnight tax of 10.-€ daily was the most important thing!
We would not recommend this hotel, especially due to the extremely poor price-performance ratio.
What was offered here for 11 nights at a price with half-board (2 adults/1 child) for 5700.- € is abysmal!
In this hotel, quantity clearly comes before quality! How the good reviews came about
is inexplicable; one can only speculate!!
After having visited well over 20 4/5-star hotels in Greece by now, we must clearly say that this hotel was the worst regarding gastronomy and rooms, but the most expensive!
Gastronomy:
We had half-board; it must be said that the variety consisted mainly of rearranging the dishes locally!
In the morning, there was scrambled egg that was kept warm in a cooking pot, with a consistency partly like soup. Fried eggs were only made after you ordered them, which led to long lines depending on the breakfast time.
There were the same dishes every day for breakfast, the three types of sausage in rolled form as well as the two types of cheese. This was the same for 11 days. Likewise the presented ready-made cakes!
In the evening, the dishes were presented in so-called "chafing dishes"; this was not only annoying but also led to long lines! We had days when the lines reached into the access area and two rows deep to the bread corner.
We had days when the lines reached into the access area and two rows deep to the bread corner.
This then led to waiting times of a good 15 minutes at the buffet!!!
You could rely on the daily presentation of deep-fried onion rings, spring rolls, and blue cheese!
Even our grandson who was traveling with us said that there is only fast food here.
Thus, frozen food was offered in the form of thumb-sized Cordon Bleu pieces, even smaller chicken wings, chicken legs, and minced meat rolls.
There was also duck once; it was the size of a pigeon and was ceremonially peeled off by the cook with a knife, so that one then received only shaved meat instead of a piece. No Greek cuisine!!!!
Sparkling wine and salmon for breakfast are completely unknown there!
Seafood as well, only once were breaded squid rings served. Fresh squid is not known!
Also, the fish that was otherwise served gave more the impression of frozen goods (Pangasius or
something similar) mostly the same one just with a different sauce.
The dessert buffet was also magnificent, frozen food, all desserts filled with the same cream.
Fruit was mostly presented in pieces (even bananas with peels were cut into pieces - they looked delicious, browned and tarnished).
There, at the dessert buffet, there was also a note that it is forbidden to take food out of the dining room!
One rather had the impression that one would have to bring something along.
When we had finally had enough and complained to the restaurant staff about this, we were smiled at! Something like that is absolutely unacceptable, which we also immediately made clear at the reception.
They told us there that they would get back to us the next day or that someone would contact us. This did not happen!
Instead, in the following days, we were asked by the employee there or once by the restaurant manager when leaving the dining room: "Everything is fine?" But it did not matter what one answered, this went unheeded!
After the promised feedback from the reception failed to materialize, we asked again two days after the complaint. We were promised that the restaurant manager would contact us. The conversation in the evening was unsuccessful.
He was aware that inferior quality in the form of frozen food, e.g., fish sticks,
is being offered. Unfortunately, he has no influence over this; these decisions are made by the
management.
It also happened that people had to stand in line just to get into the dining hall, and a seat was always assigned!
Also, the tables for three people are too small for both breakfast and dinner. Tablecloths and cloth napkins were missing; there were paper placemats in the morning and table runners and paper napkins in the evening.
Because of the limited space, you are constantly worried about knocking something over!
The entire dining hall has the standard of an average company cafeteria.
The drink prices, which are in stark disproportion to the food offered, can safely be called a rip-off.
For example, 0.25 l of mineral water costs €3.30, 0.7 l costs €5.30, and 0.33 l of beer costs €4.80. Mineral water is even offered in cartons—just like a four-star hotel!
A glass of wine is not available here; only overpriced bottles of wine are offered, starting at €24.00.
You can enter the dining hall in flip-flops and appropriate shorts (gym shorts also work). This was fitting for the standard of the food!
In our opinion, the gastronomy offered at the hotel is likely at a two-star level.
The tavern on the beach offers good quality food at acceptable prices.
Here, they charged half-board guests an additional fee of €18.00 per person for the Greek evening!
I would also like to point out Google reviews, which we unfortunately had not read before booking.
read.
Room - "We thought we were already on the show 'Verstehen Sie Spaß!' (Gotcha!)"
As already described, we had booked an apartment with two bedrooms and extras with you. Upon arrival, we were initially given Room 912 (outside the complex, building presumably from the 60s).
This was not as in the pictures of the tour operator or the hotel website.
Already upon entering the room, it smelled musty; a yellow-orange sofa was damp to the touch and left a film of moisture on the skin!
Wall efflorescence had been painted over and formed bubbles.
In the bedroom, the nightstand was in front of the closet door, no opening.
In the kitchen, there was such a musty smell when opening the cabinets that one would not want to stay in these
premises.
After attempting to call the reception, this failed due to a defective telephone.
It then succeeded via mobile phone and we were asked to look at another room, 507/508.
Due to roaming charges from connecting to the Albanian network, this was an expensive phone call!
After this one at least did not smell as disgusting, we took it and the trouble continued.
Already in the evening, we had to discover that in room 507 the toilet received no water and in 508 the hair dryer was defective! There was further reason for complaint in 507, where ants formed a trail to the bed.
The toilet was repaired provisionally that same evening with cable ties and by a replacement the following day.
Likewise, that same evening, the ant trails in the bedroom were combated by the cleaning service spraying.
The hair dryer was replaced the day after next.
On the fourth day after receiving our rental car, the safe (ERROR 2) would no longer close.
The reception sent the caretaker; the safe was defective and had to be completely replaced. So we waited until it was replaced, since the valuables should not be taken along on a rental car excursion.
Then it continued with an invasion of mosquitoes on our terrace 508 in the evening, so that we could not sit there despite mosquito spray! After reporting it to the reception, the hedge was apparently sprayed!
Because of the many mishaps, we were already thinking of "Verstehen Sie Spaß!"
We had to remove the ice from the freezer compartment of the kitchen refrigerator every two days, because the seal on the bottom left of the refrigerator door did not close tightly.
Regarding the furniture, it should be noted that we had not yet had a bathroom cabinet with "rust edges."
The closet only had hangers but not a single shelf for storing clothes; a transom window was completely missing in the bedrooms.
Overall, this also made a cheap impression. Only the mattresses as well as the wall lamps by the bed left a good impression. The shower in 508 was a hose; if you didn't stand to the side, you couldn't dry yourself off there.
We had two terraces with 2 chairs and a table each, a way to hang up laundry. For room 507, the terrace was next to the supermarket with a view of the parking lot and the driveway, among other things for the bus meeting point.
For room 508, with a view of the material storage area immediately adjacent to the right, separated only by a pane of glass! To the left, the walkway for other residential units. The masonry on the wall and ceiling had many cracks.
In terms of location, this apartment was near the meeting point, so the buses arrived starting at 5:00 AM; sometimes there was honking, too. Most recently on Fri, 06/05/26, at 6:15 AM several times. This was meant for relaxation!
We had never had furniture with rust edges, a closet without a single shelf, or a room without a transom window before. Also, we had not yet stayed on such an ugly terrace (structural damage) next to a material storage area. Here, this was possible!

A great hotel but needs some thought in places.
Pools were fantastic, especially big one near our room.
Beach is great but private beach still needed sunbeds paying for which was a surprise
Buffet was badly organised and average at best. We were a family of 3 and had to sit in the middle of a hot area surrounded by glass with sun glaring down. If we chose one of the many tables of 4 we were asked to move.
Would I come back, possibly yes but not for the price

Beautiful apartment with two balconies with sea view. But above a pool full of screaming children, the smoking area of the staff and the smelly kitchen. Nice park garden.
German organization with friendly staff. In the evening often loud music. Village, not atmospheric on the main road, with shops, supermarket and restaurants within walking distance. Bus stop for scheduled bus to Corfu city.
