I sometimes wonder if some of the reviews on this hotel relate to the same hotel I am currently staying in and have done annually for the past decade. The owners -Sofia and Costa are delightful. I personally book direct via a phone call, the hotel arranges for a taxi from the airport, usually a super clean Mercedes or similar. Allow circa €70, it takes 45 mins or so. Well worth the extra to avoid a multi drop bus that can take hours Over the years I have met with other “Joylifers” who also return year after year. This is a family run hotel, please remember that the staff and owners who operate hospitality venues work seven days a week 16 hours a day, often in extreme heat ! It’s a 20 minute walk to the main strip, but other fantastic family run tavernas / restaurants are half that distance, the plus point here at the Joylife it’s quiet and you can get an uninterrupted nights sleep! The hotel is super clean and tidy, it’s not The Ritz, the staff work incredibly hard. But it appears some visitors think that being outright rude and obnoxious to hard working folk is acceptable. From a young age I was personally taught to treat people as you expect to be treated yourself . So perhaps the issue here are the few self entitled visitors NOT the owners?

I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago, when the owner initially mistook me for an aggressive, drunk guest, though it was eventually cleared up. However, this year her attitude was cold and unpleasant from the very beginning. When I politely asked to borrow a screwdriver, she rudely told me to stop bothering her. Later, she overheard me discussing this poor experience with another guest and mentioning that I would leave a negative review. Her reaction was completely unacceptable – she called me aside and threatened to kick me out immediately, claiming she would charge me three times the booking price. She even claimed to have recorded our conversation on video (which would actually only prove my point about her behavior). Extremely unprofessional, hostile, and malicious behavior towards paying guests. Stay away from this hotel.

from the moment we checked in this hotel we were made to feel u welcome we arrived at midnight to a set of keys and directions for bedroom i feel that at least a bottle of water should of been left given that we were 25 mins from anywhere open so we had to walk not having a clue where we were going i’m the pitch black roads to find somthing to drink we checked in the next day and from the off the owners were the most rudest people i have ever met we literally slept there as we didn’t not feel welcome when out in the town and speaking to people we were told several times that these owners have a reputation for it on leaving we were having to freshen up and change clothes in the toilet as nothing was offered to us on leaving the owners didn’t even say as much as goodbye very awkward and actually couldn’t believe that somebody could be so hard faced
