Whilst we expected the hotel to be fairly basic we were surprised by the poor condition of the hotel , the hotel does not look like it has had any work including basic repairs done in years , the room we were given was very tired , there were loose wires sticking out of the wall and the power sockets were held together with sticky masking tape which made us wary of using the power sockets.
The toilet leaked continuously leaving the bathroom floor soaking wet at all times , the shower rail was hanging off the wall and the shower curtain attached was ripped and dirty
The swimming pool was out of order and had not been cleaned in years, the surrounding area was run down , derelict and dirty with exposed wires and metal gates lying around on the floor, this meant that no one could use this area during our stay.
Loud music was played from the bar for most of the night , so loud you had no chance of sleeping until at least 3 AM when the bar closed
The Staff including the manager are rude and uninterested in any complaints , the manager was drunk for most of our visit and did not want to help or assist us
We booked with On the Beach who clearly do not check the accommodation they supply through their agent - Hotel beds , the pictures of the hotel as advertised must have been taken years ago as they do not represent the hotel as it is now
Overall a disgrace , both the hotel and the service received from hotel and travel agent

I had a good time in a hotel. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was ok. Value for money. I spend 7 nights no problem at all. I would recommend to someone who don't want to pay a lot of money for hotel . Room was big enaugh. Plenty of space in a wardrobe. Bathroom was ok.

Oscar Hotel is the worst hotel we have stayed in. We arrived to find they had given us 2 rooms on one side of the hotel and 1 on the other when we had requested to all be together. The staff didn't seem bothered by us being there at all. The rooms were unclean, cold and the bedding was disgusting. The bathrooms had months of limescale build up and the shower head didn't stay up on the wall so you had to hose yourself down rather than shower. The pool clearly hasn't been used for a very long time and is completely green and overgrown. This is not made clear on any booking site!
We managed to brave it for one night but then breakfast was the straw that broke the camels back. There was no choice, we all had plates thrown in front of us with fried egg, some kind of sliced meat and cheese. My egg had shell in it and the rest looked like it had been sitting there for a long time. There were no alternatives and for two of our party who don't eat eggs it meant they went hungry.
We decided to leave and go to a nearby hotel so packed our bags and walked out, having to leave a note for the staff because there was no one in sight! In the hurry to pack I left my jacket in the room, possibly still hanging in the wardrobe. When I went back to get it I was told they had checked the rooms and there was nothing! They didn't seem to care at all that we had left or why.
Thankfully we stayed in a lovely hotel down the road for the reminder of our stay and we ended up having a lovely week but it would have been hell if we'd had to stay at Oscar!
