Dimis Hotel

Dimis Apartments & Studios Zakynthos/Laganas (Agrilia 29092, Greece) is a terrible nightmare, beyond imagination and rating, The Dimis is a filthy, wrecked and abandoned place. A nightmare for unaware travellers. The term hotel is not appropriate for this horrible venue, whose function is unclear (hostel, by the hour hotel, brothel). Avoid this hellish venue, not suited for ANYONE. I was “abducted” to this horrible place, by the criminally carelessness of Vueling Flight Company, after it cancelled my flight, because of a simple delay, on August 18th, 2018. No name or sign is visible outside of the run–down and very dirty venue. The reception, abandoned and decrepit, is operated by an older man and several minors. We arrived after 12.30 pm and, being very tired and alone, I was not able to avoid my stay. In the very dirty common parts of the venue, I could spot big abandoned trash bags, broken bottles, shards, female sanitary pads, condoms and half–dressed people on the landings. The hotel has only 7 bed–rooms (I waited for dawn in room 37), which are decrepit (AC obviously not working and without remote) and very, very dirty (on one of the beds I found a band aid on the sheets, I do not comment the bathroom), but alive with cockroaches, ants and mosquitoes. I sat the whole night on my beach towel. This nevertheless, is NOT the worst part. I was probably spotted, a woman travelling alone, while entering room 37, so all night, screaming, drunken men, repeatedly kicked at my door, trying to break it down, as is visible by the state of my door (cf. pictures). I was forced to barricade the door with all the furniture, I was able to move, waiting for the sun to rise. I was in tears all night and did not know what to do (my mobile was unloaded, no phone in the room). At 6.30 am, taking courage with the sunlight, and went to find help. The abandoned hotel seemed to have been plundered: garments thrown from the balconies, a fire hose torn from the wall, shattered glass in the empty swimming pool, furniture thrown in the nearby fields. The reception was deserted. Waiting on the highway, I was able to take a taxi on the fly, left by a group of drunken Englishmen returning from their dance club night. I was able to reach Zakinthos Town and a proper hotel, booked as soon as my mobile was charged again. (At my new hotel a met a young couple which having rented a flat in the Laganas area, where robbed of all their belongings). I am suing Vueling Company, which puts their clients in such a danger and abandons them to their destiny. Dimis Apartments & Studios Zakynthos/Laganas is a terrible nightmare, beyond imagination and rating. All travellers: stay away from Dimis Apartments & Studios and the Laganas Area in Zakinthos!!!

We have known Pepe and his family for 16 years and always call in on them for a drink... It was quite early season this year so the hotel and bar were not in full swing but there were still quite a few folks around the pool etc. The bar offers a good selection of drinks, cocktails and snacks which are produced to order in the adjacent kitchen. Service is quick and good value for money.

lovely staff, very welcoming hotel. I stayed here in may/June with my boyfriend which was definitely a place more suitable for young people rather than family's at the time. Had a great time and close to the strip. Was quite loud at night with the other people staying at the hotel. Staff were very helpful
