Edelweiss Hotel

Had a very relaxing 10 day break here. The rooms and outside areas were kept spotlessly clean. We had an issue with the washbasin in the bathroom, and Eleni and her team sorted it out quickly and without fuss. The apartment facilities are adequate for simple self catering, and yes, the beds are on the hard side, but I’ve never known anything different in Greek apartments. Only bought a beer from the pool bar - with end of season approaching, I guess they didn’t want to restock with things that they wouldn’t sell. The hotel location is good - far enough away from the resort centre to make it quiet, but near enough to walk to the numerous bars and restaurants. The gardens and surrounds are very pretty.

We got room number 1 with super city views and a little sea. Lovely large terrace and the room was really good and clean. Not as quiet place as expected. We often woke up to hanegal and dogs. The neighbor drove early on a noisy bullshit and the rebo used high-pressure drillers for several hours three days in a row. The pool area is one of the most beautiful we have seen. No plastic shake you fall into. The fun at the pool is unfortunately disturbed by the water coming over the edge past the drain and down around sunbeds so your things get wet. No problems getting sunbeds. The sunbeds could well penetrate for replacement / maintenance. Can only recommend going down to the beach and finding a place with free sunbeds against buying drinking and eating lunch in the same place. Not impressed by the hotel staff and the service they provide. We were not treated badly, but a little more smiles, good service and healthy people would have made a positive difference.

Upon arrival at property there was no staff in reception, only a sign left to say you would find them at the pool. Once I’d got a hold of someone they then tried to tell me I’d only booked for 2 people even though I’d booked for 3 and made the booking last October. Was then taken to room 201, toilet was leaking and all cracked and the bath was all chipped….not great I wasn’t expecting 5star but I was expecting somewhere with decent hygiene standards. Apartment has a great balcony which is all it really has going for it. Found the staff to be very rude and offish compared to any other Greek people I’d met in all my years coming to Greece. Apartment is situated on a killer hill so anyone with mobility issues look elsewhere. All in all love Greece but wouldn’t return here for love or money and I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
