We enjoyed our stay at Sofias and for the price we paid I would say we got what was expected. I would rate it 3.5 stars.
Good points:
- Location is excellent, right in between the new and old strip (we preferred the old strip)
- Staff are friendly and welcoming
- Room size was very good, we were given a one bedroom apartment which had a separate living room with a kitchenette.
- Air con was great and was included in the price
- Rooms and grounds were kept clean to a good standard
- Included breakfast had a good selection, however it would have been nice to have a bit more fruit offered as there was just one plate of different small pieces of fruit and once they were gone, they were gone.
Bad points:
- The rooms were so noisy as the walls were so thin, you could hear every foot step of next door and I’m sure our neighbours were doing the olympics in their room!! I heard them turn their light on at 530 am, that’s a noise you shouldn’t be able to hear through a wall.
- The beds are uncomfortable the mattresses are very thin (feel just like a foam mattress) and the bed frame is just slats of wood.
- The sunbeds, they were so uncomfortable and many of them were broken and tattered. We only spent 3 days by the pool due to this out of a 10 day holiday and instead spent money at the beach.
Unfortunately, for us we wouldn’t return as comfort is very important for us on a holiday. However if the bed situation and sun beds were improved we definitely would return (and bring ear plugs with us!)

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay here. The rooms are basic with the bathroom, particularly the shower cubicle being very small but it a cleaner attended every day and there was a tray with some complimentary items , eg: vanity kit, loofahs, shower caps, shaving kit, toothbrush and toothpaste kit and a couple of other things, also 2 small soaps and shower gels in the bathroom. There's is a small kitchenette which is well stocked with what you'd need to make a meal if necessary. We stayed b&b and the breakfast was very good. They serve meals throughout the day but we ate out every night due to the amount of restaurants within a short walk. The drinks are reasonably priced with a good happy hour deal between 6 and 9 pm. Plenty of sunloungers so if there are none available around the pool, there's a huge rooftop terrace which we used once, but we were the only people up there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our pickup to come home wasn't till 6.30 pm, so we had to use the pool shower to freshen up then change in the toilets as there is no changing room, but it did the job. I've given it 5 stars based on the price paid and the fact it's only a 2 star hotel.
