We stayed in Room 508 (a superior SC studio). Lovely light and spacious studio with a fabulous bathroom, including an excellent hairdryer. Our kitchenette had a filter coffee machine but, sadly, no kettle. Also had a very small fridge, which held just 3 large bottles of water, and no ice box – totally inadequate for self-catering. I do, however, believe that some studios have a better fridge (with freezer compartment). Lovely dinner service and full complement of glasses and small cups. Strangely, apart from the obligatory bathroom bin, we just had a large open basket – on the balcony – for rubbish (and food waste). The flies loved it, especially as it was only emptied once during our week’s stay. We had a great balcony on the 1st floor, near the small pool, with views of both the sea and the airport, which we loved. There was no rack to dry towels or swimwear so we rigged up some string along the balcony rails – like the old days. Ground floor rooms only had hedges (no rails) so had to festoon their ‘washing’ on the hedges. Our bedding and towels were changed frequently and the room always smelt lovely and clean on return. There was a small open wardrobe but no other clothes storage area – the only drawers were the tiny ones in the bedside table. We lived out of our cases and packing cubes, which isn’t ideal. Air Con was free; optional safe was €2 per day; room tax – a steep €10 per day! We were B&B basis. Breakfast options were varied but tedious. Flies were a big problem around the food. We used our voucher to gain access to the 20% discounted evening buffet. Good selection of food, and makes a change from the brisk and boring 40 minute walk into Pythagorio (€9 taxi fare). Sadly, no bars or tavernas around this area of Potokaki for in the evenings. There is a great mini market on site, which opens 8am-10pm daily.

The pictures of the hotel are very deceptive. The rooms are dated and it’s not a beach front hotel, there is a row of buildings in front of the beach then the road and then the hotel. You can see the sea in between the buildings but just a glimpse. The place you see in the photos that is beachfront is their restaurant/cafe. The road in front of the hotel is very busy and loud. You can hear everything going on outside even with the patio doors shut. There are no outlets near the bed to plug in your devices and if you need to plug in something you will need to unplug nightlights which are still not close enough. The front desk staff is very rude. Which was very surprising to us because the island people are extremely friendly and helpful. Turns out she is German and not a local. The hotel is 35 minutes walking distance to Pythagoreio. The shower in the room is enclosed with glass doors but the drain in the shower was clogged therefore the water pooled up and leaked out of it which made the bathroom a watery mess. The breakfast buffet didn’t have healthy options. The kettle is the room was very dirty so I didn’t even dare using it. Beds were rock hard and the pillows were flat. I don’t have anything positive to say. The very last interaction was when I asked about their late checkout and we were yelled at by a man who came running from the back! I’m assuming he was the manager of some sort. Overall I don’t recommend anyone staying here. I have stayed in many hotels around this island some of them were downright beat up but the staff was excellent so I didn’t care but at the same time their information wasn’t deceptive like Hydrele beach hotel.
