The rooms are very clean and equipped with anything a family would need for a comfortable stay (refrigerator, washing machine for clothes, washing machine for dishes, ironing board etc), the staff (especially Rachel!) are very polite and willing to help you with anything you need, the rooms have a lot of space and the place is very quiet when you go to bed and want to have a good night's sleep (very important!).
You will not find a big variety when you go for breakfast, but anything you eat is of good quality.
I went there a few days ago, stayed in a 50 square meters room and paid 125 euros per night, which is not too much in my opinion... You will find other hotels in the area but if you want something similar, you will certainly pay more and nobody will know your name when you go for breakfast every morning!....
Personally I would go back anytime!
And Rachel, thank you for your valuable help, it was really appreciated!

We stayed in Nefeli suite for 2 weeks, travelling with a baby, it was just the perfect holiday. The villa was beautiful, spacious and clean, the residence is nice, full of flowers, there is a swimming pool too. The beach just outside the hotel is clean and quite. Moreover, the owners were friendly, polite, and helped us with everything we needed, from recommending restaurants to sightseeing and activities with children. Breakfast is nice. the seaview from the villa is unbeatable, and the price very fair, definetly recommended!

The villas are lovely, we stayed in Aphrodite villa. it has a roof terrace and a jacuzzi (we didn't use the jacuzzi however so can't commend on it). The breakfast area is sufficiently stocked and the lady preparing the breakfast is always very polite and it was always pleasant to talk to her in the mornings. She worked tirelessly to always ensure we had enough food to eat. Be aware that breakfast is to be eaten in the breakfast area only and not to be taken back to the room as another guest was told - this is fair enough as people will get greedy and pinch food to take for later on otherwise and leave nothing for anyone else!
We went in May so the pool was too cold to bathe in but the sun loungers were sufficient and it was a nice little sun trap. The villas could do with a slightly larger sign or better directions (as in turn left once you go past Mylos restaurant on the left) because we shot right past it and had to call the owner.
The owner was generally polite and helpful and wanted to make sure we had everything that we needed - when we first arrived we were bowled over at how polite he was, however this turned a little sour and on one occasion I found him to be quite rude because we took a chair out onto our veranda and it got dusty - I wouldn't mind but he spoke to my father about it rather than us because my father speaks Greek and I found that to be very rude indeed because my father was staying in a different villa and it was not his concern in the slightest. Equally there weren't any instructions to say we couldn't take a chair outside to sit on as the existing chair that was outside was already broken. I am quite certain that he would have not spoken to us like that if we were there without my dad and it actually spoilt it for us because we felt very uncomfortable afterwards in case if we messed something up as we are always very careful when we go abroad and if we accidentally break a glass or something we always tell the proprietor. For the rest of the trip he was polite again but I think that it did mar our enjoyment which is a shame as every other aspect was fine.
The villa itself is on a small complex and is across the road from the beach - I would heartily recommend a car though as Mikri Matinea is a small village and there is not much there - if you were there for a week without a car you would be in trouble unless your idea of a holiday is literally to go from villa to beach and back again. However it is a 10-15 minute drive from the centre of Kalamata and a 20-25 minute drive to the airport which makes its location ideal for checking out the Mani penninsular.
It is certainly a nice go between and a small hybrid villa complex - I expected it to be like a hotel and was very pleasantly surprised to find us staying in a villa. It is reasonably priced and we were lucky to get a deal in the May half term although the prices go up in peak season. I would recommend to others to stay there but just be very careful of the property as I would hate for someone else to get had a go at.
