Archipelagos Hotel

What can I add that’s not already been said? I’ll save that for later. This modern hotel is thoughtfully laid out to accommodate mobility scooters etc, which I use. Food was plentiful and always of a very high standard for buffets. We didn’t avail ourselves of the à la carte restaurant because the menu didn’t appeal. I would have hoped that a restaurant in Greece included more Greek dishes. Cannot fault any of the staff, from the cleaning team up to the managers. All were friendly and polite and looked after everyone. Ok the drinks left something to be desired, and that’s an understatement. The cocktails were over sweet and resembled an alcoholic slushy. However they were drinkable just. Our room was beautifully clean with our own private splash pool. This leads me to my one major issue with the hotel. After struggling to get out of our splash pool via the metal ladder I resigned myself that I would not be availing myself of this amenity again. However, on studying the two beautiful pools on site I realised neither of them had steps and handrails to facilitate the lesser abled getting in/out of the water. Hence, no more swimming for me on this holiday. Very disappointing. Something the hotel needs to address, especially as they’ve got disabilities covered so well in other areas. Lastly a couple of observations- not complaints. The (glass) shower door opens inwards. If someone was to slip, fall and render themselves unconscious there is very little chance the door could be opened from outside. I’ve never experienced an all inclusive hotel where bottled water was not freely available! Ok if drinking it round the pool bar, but not allowed to take a plastic cup back to your room. We ended up buying bottled water from the site shop which was an expensive exercise. Would I stay here again? Yes because it’s a great AI hotel. No because I specifically wanted a Greek experience but could have been anywhere in Europe , especially as the majority of staff were from the Philippines- let me add they were without exception wonderful friendly people who helped make our holiday.

The positives first, Excellent food always good choice Very hard working staff from the Philippines always happy and very attentive Entertainment rock duo amazing Dj nights also good Really comfy beds Modern rooms Sea view breathtaking Always plenty of sunbeds Now for the cons Cocktails are disgusting, all pre made very cheaply and are soooo sweet we tried all of them on the menu over the 14 days taste nothing like they should Wine in the bar, rose wine could have stripped paint off was awful, but was pleasant in the restaurant ???? No bottled water unless you wanted to play for it, apparently tap water safe to drink but was given bottled water free at other blue lagoon hotels on Kos One night we were late down to dinner got to 9.25 and wanted to take our wine out to drink at the bar only 25 metres away and were stopped at the door and told we weren’t allowed to take the wine out of the restaurant we explained that they were closing and we just wanted to drink slowly but no you cannot take it All in all we made the most of it, but had to spend money on drinks elsewhere which when we paid over £5000 for 2 it made the holiday very costly, we’ve been to Kos four time and would not return to this hotel

Excellent hotel, all the staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was of the highest quality. It also helps that we were upgraded to a room with a hot tub as well. The restaurant was busy at times but the young staff could not do enough to help you. Great variety of food, every evening had a different country theme. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Kos.
