Terra Maria

Very beautiful and minimalist accommodation, staff available and courteous 24/7. The location is excellent for reaching the bus station, the sea, and various clubs. It has a very beautiful and pleasant common upper area for consuming food and drinks.

I stayed in Terra Maria for 3 nights, and overall it was a lovely stay. I’ll attach plenty of photos to provide a better idea of the room. The best thing is its location. You’ll be in the heart of the town, very close to all attractions, including the waterfront, the windmills, the old port, and the bus station. The bed was comfy. The shower was very specious. Though it took me a while to figure out how to control the water t. There were 2 windows in the room, so the room was bright. I’d love to have a Nespresso machine in the room. The hotel does provide tea and coffee (filter coffee) facilities, but in the lobby. I booked a room on the upper floor and with a balcony (which was more expensive). However, when I checked in, I was offered a room on the ground floor without any balcony or patio. When I told the receptionist about it, she wasn’t very willing to make a change saying that the balcony is small anyway and rooms aren’t that different. I decided to insist since I had paid more for the room. She asked to see my booking. And it clearly said “upper floor with a balcony/patio”. Then she made some calls and said it might take time. At last, I was given a room on the second floor, still without a balcony. No apologies were offered. It was a bit disappointing. Finally, if you choose this hotel, be ready for party sounds all around at night and a small outdoor cinema sounds next door. For me it wasn’t an issue, but maybe for someone it could be.

Terrible experience. I booked and paid for my vacation through Booking.com and promptly received confirmation. However, just 48 hours before departure, the property Terra Maria began sending me repeated messages claiming they had never received the payment from Booking.com — which turned out to be untrue. Of course. I have all the receipts and screenshots. I was forced to contact Booking.com support to request a cancellation, and only after that was I contacted directly by the property with an alternative offer, bypassing Booking altogether. Unbelievable. This behavior was highly unprofessional and caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty right before the trip. I also read that other people had the same experience. I strongly advise against booking here.
