Dana Villas Hotel

We had a very enjoyable stay at Dana Villas and would recommend it to anyone visiting Santorini. The location is excellent. It is just outside the busy centre of Fira, making it much quieter while still being only a short walk to the restaurants, shops, and everything the town has to offer. The views are absolutely stunning and were one of the highlights of our trip. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. While it was clean, it is starting to feel a little dated and could benefit from some updates. We also had a private plunge pool, which was a great feature, but it could have used a more thorough cleaning. The breakfast each morning was delicious and offered a good variety of options. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. A special thank you to the porters who carried our luggage up and down the many steps. Their hard work does not go unnoticed and made our arrival and departure so much easier. There were a couple of disappointments during our stay. The WiFi did not work for the first five days, and because the rooms are built into the cliff, our mobile data also did not work inside the room. This made it especially difficult with two teenagers. Once technicians were brought in, the issue was resolved. The main pool is beautiful, but there is very little shade unless you are sitting in the restaurant. Adding umbrellas beside the loungers would make the pool area much more comfortable during the hottest part of the day. Yes there are A LOT of stairs. We expected that before arriving, and it is a part of staying in Santorini. People often say the best hotels come with the most steps, and the incredible views certainly make the climb worth it.

The place is amazing, great infinity pool and lovely staff. But there was an incident with smell that came from the swere when we were there and we had to get another room for the night which was not as we payed for. They tried to do their best but I was still disappointed since we payed a very expensive price for one night with a private pool (which was much smaller then I thought), and yet, we didn't get to sleep in that room so my experience there is with mixed emotions. They were nice trying to handle the situation and I guess incidents happen and there's nothing we can do about it.

Excellent service, views and great location. The hotel organised pick up and drop off and many activities. Other travellers take note, Santorini has many stairs with over 150 to the hotel restaurant but the staff took our big bags up and down.
