From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the correct decision staying here. The cave house stay is a unique experience and the views are just spectacular! The hosts were very kind and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. They even presented my husband with a cake for his 50th Birthday which we really appreciated. If you want five star, this isn’t the place for you. If you want a quaint and romantic place to stay with kind hosts and views (did we mention the views), this will be the perfect place for you.

The house we stayed in was very clean and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and has great air conditioning! There was a nice sitting room with a tv which we hardly used but was nice to have a place to sit other than on a bed like some places. The bathroom is beautiful and makes you feel as though you are in an ancient palace with the blue tiles! There are some great restaurant options in Oia but the one that the owner met us at was our favourite called “Kastro”. The owners are very thoughtful and even have a little guide book ok things to do and see on the island. I recommend taking the shuttle transfer they offer you from the airport. We opted out of this and instead picked up our rental ATV right from the air port. I recommend getting to the house and dropping your things and getting situated before picking up any rentals as the island is very confusing to drive on and we got lost causing us to be 2 hours late to the house. The owners were very understanding and we were very appreciative of their kind nature! Highly recommend this place!

Wow, what a dream it was to stay at Fotinos House! Mr. Fotinos and his wife, Ioanna, were so welcoming and ensured every detail was taken care of during our stay. They helped arrange transportation to/from the airport, and Mr. Fotinos even helped carry our luggage up and down the infamous staircases in Oia (and kindly refused our tip). We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which was a clean and perfect bungalow for 2 people. It had gorgeous blue views of the Aegean sea, was surrounded by the picturesque blue and white cave houses, and a well-working A/C and kitchenette that we used to cook breakfast every morning. Oia is famous for its sunset views, and we felt so lucky being able to watch the sunset from our own private balcony/upper deck with complimentary wine provided by the Fotinos (away from the crowds). We would highly recommend doing a sunset cruise if possible, and enjoying the nearby Lioyerma pool with amazing views (free pool access with purchase of food/drink). It was definitely a splurge for accommodation, but the location, amenities, service, and VIEWS were priceless. We were debating on where to stay in Santorini (Oia, Fira, or Imerovigli), and were so glad we decided on staying in Oia, especially at the Fotinos House, right across from the Castle. Simply magical!
