Silver Palace

The owner Christos, his nephew Christian and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful to us throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble to find, fetch or do for us. The room was basic but clean and roomy with a lovely balcony looking out over farmland to the sea. I particularly enjoyed using the lovely pool and sunbeds during our most relaxing holiday. Although only bed and breakfast accommodation, the continental breakfasts were plentiful and Christos provided two evening meals during our stay. These were of local dishes and of very good value. A well stocked mini-market nearby and a 10 minute walk to the beach bars and tavernas fulfilled all our other culinary needs and requirements. Overall a most excellent hotel and base for a much needed relaxing holiday. Thankyou Christos!!

The apartment we had was sited on the ground floor and fairly basic.Number of things not great in room-i.e no working safe (key had been taken by previous occupant, fridge sounded like aircraft taking off and not very cool, hand held shower (but piping hot water at all times), no plates ,cutlery etc- although we did not require these and I'm sure if you did Christos would have supplied. The hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from beach area with bars and restaurants alongside. However these little things did not stop us having a lovely relaxing holiday-the pool is spot on, very clean, plenty of sunbeds whilst we were there as lots of people were using this hotel as base and going out for the day sightseeing . The owner, Christos, is on site very often and is extremely kind and courteous-drove my husband and I down to beach front area one evening after a busy day volcano climbing and would not take a penny. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided as well-Thanks ladies-. No charge for air conditioning which is a rarity. Breakfast is fine-ham, cheese and sausage, plenty of scrummy fresh bread, bowl of chopped up fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt and honey, small choice of cereals, orange juice, tea and coffee. During the week we were there we had the 3 evening meals provided, which were local dishes and a bbq, all home cooked and very tasty and good value for money. The service provided by staff was amongst the best I have experienced. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were all extremely helpful and friendly. Dmitri, Giorgos and Nikos were fabulous and frankly made the holiday so thank you to you all. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday base at a reasonable price this is perfect for you

We booked last minute and had very little choice - as soon as it was booked we received an email for airport collection , €25 euro for family of 4 - good price and phoned "Christos" to confirm . When we arrived , no reception just pool bar , we were met by Christos , the owner. We received a lovely warm greeting and advised us that we had the suite for 2 nights and would then have a choice of hotels ........ The suite we stayed in was nice , upstairs with doubled bed, lovely views and big balcony. The other hotel that was being sold to us as an alternative was about 2km further south , it did not look great from the outside, and we decided to stay put in our hotel - This is when our holiday took a nose dive ! We were put in a basement studio with no Air Conditiong for one night , this was the worst night on holiday ever ! and no fridge for 4 days but we were told we could use the pool bar fridge. Breakfast is ok but basic , the pool is lovely , the rooms were cleaned every day , the staff are excellent even if only Two really speak any English. The resort is quiet but plenty of bars and restaurants on the front. it's only a 10 minute walk to the beach. To conclude - the apartments are in a quiet location but are in need of a bit of TLC. Ask for balcony and you will have a sea view and be prepared to be moved , Christos looks over booked and will try and move you to his alternative hotel ! We will return to Santarini but not to the Silver "luxury" Palace
