my wife and i stayed here on our visit to tikal and really found this hotel to be very relaxing. besides the beautiful pool there was a path to the lake where we jumped off the dock for a refreshing swim. the dinner buffet was very good and breakfast was also very good. the area was alive with various types of birds and howler monkeys could be heard early in the morning and also early evening. really cool place to stay and recommend it highly.

Beautiful location, but serious management and billing issues Stay: Dec 31, 2025 – Jan 3, 2026 | Room 201 This property is stunning, but our stay was overshadowed by repeated administrative and billing failures. Key issues: Reservation error: Correct dates were booked (Dec 31–Jan 2), but the confirmation email showed entirely wrong dates. Fixing a hotel-side mistake required a USD $63 international call. Forced extension & breakfast dispute: I was told the stay had to be extended to three nights and agreed only after receiving written and verbal confirmation that breakfast was included for all days. Despite this, on Jan 1 we were denied breakfast coverage and forced to pay Q720 + tip to avoid disrupting our plans. Conflicting information: Repeated contradictions regarding New Year’s Eve gala access caused unnecessary last-minute stress. Connectivity & checkout confusion: Wi-Fi issues prevented timely access to confirmations, and emails listed two different checkout times, requiring plan changes. Billing errors: Charges from my room were incorrectly mixed with another guest’s separate reservation, delaying accurate receipts. Additional concern: Wine purchased at the NYE gala was charged without disclosed prices and later duplicated on the bill. The setting and grounds are exceptional, but front desk coordination, communication, and billing controls need major improvement. Until those are resolved, travelers should carefully document everything and double-check charges.

it’s not that bad. there is technically a pool, and you do have a bed, that you technically can sleep in. however, the quality of these things i’m not so sure about. the food they show online isn’t real, they only have buffets. but the buffets aren’t THAT bad. oh also wifi doesn’t work in the hotel rooms. its the only option if you want a hotel near tikal so yeah. it’s a perfect, 3 star hotel.
