Many, if not most hotel stays fall to the back of your memory and and blend together and you can't really distinguish one from the other. I have stayed at this hotel twice and I will stay there again if I return to Flores.
The architecture is very interesting. Big stone arches and a beautiful court yard are very memorable. The hotel restaurant is an open air setting that is on one end of the court yard. It is good and has prices that are reasonable.
The staff is exceptionally helpful. They were helpful in making suggestions on what to do and see. They also called on our behalf to check on a tour bus that I had scheduled was late.
The rooms are a bit dated but are air conditioned and comfortable. It has a swimming pool.
The located in an area where several restaruants and shops are in walking distance. I drove to Flores from Guatemala City, but once I parked the car, I did not get in it again until we left Flores.
Hotel del Patio - Tikal is a place I would suggest to anyone for consideration and I would stay there again.

Ants were present in the room despite there being no kettle and is not taking food into the room.
The hotel's idea of security was to close and not lock the metal gate at night so anyone could wander in drunk from the nearby bingo hall. (note the nearby supermarket complex and petrol station had men with machine guns patrolling)
Upon check in the keys were provided to someone who was not listed on the room booking and who had not paid and when I asked for a spare Kay and commented on the situation I got told the person had just said the booking was theirs.
Male member of staff who was on reception pretended not to speak English and to not understand my perfect Spanish. He stated reception was not 24/7 so anyone could wander through the metal gate.
More like a hostel than a hotel.

My friend and I stayed in the Hotel del Patio Tikal for 3 nights - the staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast (not included) was tasty, the environment was very chilled and quiet, the pool was fab, the shower was hot and had good pressure, the bed was comfy, the aircon worked well, and the upstairs terrace was a lovely place to relax.
The hotel is a 5 min walk from a supermarket and mall and a 10-15min walk from the island of Flores. The map on Tripadvisor does not correctly locate this hotel - it is on the east side of the bridge.
Would recommend staying here.
