The accommodation consists of several houses located around a lagoon/lake. We had chosen this accommodation to visit Tikal. There is a swimming pool, a terrace and a restaurant. In the evening we had to eat in the restaurant as the hotel is off the beaten track. Breakfast in the morning was served a la carte or with several guests in the hotel there was buffet.

Ok hotel. Good as a base from Tikal but nothing else around here (we went to Flores as the nearest town - very small and ok for an afternoon but £30 return taxi). Rooms are basic. Nice setting by the lake but limited seating if you want to quietly read a book. Small pool with a few kids enjoying, got quite noisy. Captive to eat here given limited local options. That said breakfast was a buffet and reasonable, and all day menu was broad and not expensive. It also had vegetarian options. Not sure of standard of other hotels round here if you are visiting Tikal. This is ok for that purpose but we had a spare day here and I’d rather had carried on our trip elsewhere.
