El Carmen Hotel

We recently stayed at the El Carmen hotel during our week in Antiqua, and we had an excellent experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always willing to help with any questions or requests. Lily, the concierge, went beyond helpful in coordinating our week's tours, as well as restaurant/coffee shop suggestions. The hotel's location was convenient, centrally located making it easy to explore all Antigua has to offer. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and excellent facilities made our stay truly memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and would gladly stay here again in the future.

Central location, delicious food at the restaurant, and friendly staff. It has parking, and it is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Near the room, there was access to the terrace, and there was a lot of noise from various family conversations, which did not allow for early morning rest. The water went out on two occasions for several hours. The hotel is well-decorated, clean, and the staff is friendly; however, there are relevant details that should not be missing or failing to ensure a comfortable and peaceful stay, and it is not economical enough to lack any service.

We spent two nights in El Carmen following our arrival in Guatemala. Possibly the most comfortable (and largest) bed ever! The hotel is brilliantly located in the heart of Antigua, and is built around a relaxing courtyard. Rooms were clear and spacious and the rooftop terrace was an added bonus, especially enjoying breakfast whilst looking at an erupting volcano! Staff were friendly too!
