Mid-range hotel (Guatemalan standards) in the center of Antigua Guatemala with good security. Rooms are simple but clean (every other day), with fan, fridge, warm water and comfortable beds. Some facilities are a bit outdated (bath/shower, noisy fridge, minor maintenance needed). No elevator and many stairs. Breakfast is basic but includes generous fruit (watermelon & pineapple). Non-vegan options are better with good portions, but flexibility is limited. Friendly staff. Good for a short stay. town. Supermarket nearby.

We were very happy with our stay! The space was just what we needed for our time in Antigua. The bed was alright but the shower was great! We kept the window open during the day and closed it at night, we had a fan and the room felt just fine, it was nice and cool! The service was very friendly! The breakfast was good, I liked the pancakes they were sweet! The rooftop had great views! You could hear the lively town at night but it died down around 10 pm. It is also a great location, we walked everywhere!

The service at this hotel was excellent. Sheni at the front desk was amazing, she not only checked us in, but served us breakfast, helped with the wi-fi, and brought my wife hot water for her tea every evening. Silvia also did a great job cleaning our room, and supplying us with whatever we needed. The hotel supplies filtered water, an excellent complimentary breakfast, and is centrally located close to the city center. The hotel needs much better maintenance. Our room (#8) didn't have a chair, the shower was chipped and leaked, and the ceiling needed to be painted. It looked like they had put in new low flow toilets, but it took at least 3 times flushing to work. There was a TV, but they said the cable wasn't working. Better quality of curtains and putting on screens to keep the mosquitos out would help. Only 2 hangers were provided for the clothes. Outside the room, the breakfast room had a broken glass vase, and there was also broken glass and chairs on the roof top patio. Overall, I feel there are better choices for the money in Antigua. With the great staff and location, a little more effort towards maintaining the facility would make Posada El Antano Hotel a good place to stay.
