Soleil La Antigua Resort & Conference Center

I came here with a tour group and the front desk failed to inform me that outside food was not allowed ANYWHERE in the hotel. They stopped me as I was entering with my takeaway meal and would not let me enter. I offered to pay a fine to offset the lost revenue and they refused so I ate my meal on the curb. The rigidity of their front office is ridiculous considering that anybody could walk in with food in their bags. Would not recommend if you’re not in the mood for $155quetzal nachos and too tired to go out.

This hotel must have been a gem at the time it opened! You still feel that ancient glory emanating from its wide corridors and beautiful gardens. However the units especially the villas that have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with dining room and kitchen already need a renovation. Unit 315 where I stayed the antique and finished furniture. The well maintained facilities the pools, wet areas and restaurant service are excellent!

Nice hotel, spacious rooms, very small bathroom. Well located. Clean. Dismal attention that mars the experience: We were a group with reservation for months and entry at different times. They had oversold rooms and some people had no room on arrival, having to wait hours (and in the early morning) until allocating and prompting them to stay the night elsewhere. Very poor breakfast and lousy service in room. We were lifted from the table up to three times to relocate to the dining room. - Very poor billing and lack of attention: They make every effort to charge you for your stay as soon as you arrive, even at dawn, even though you have paid pre-bail. However, they refuse to invoice you on time and summon you to the final day, but they do not have a ready invoice although they have indicated that they do. - The rooms have moths running through the wooden furniture counters.
