Korona Panzio

This pictures from home page is not “real” - the condition are very bad - lot of old staff, the carpet its old and full of spots the tv is little one and very old (NO PLASMA or LCD), the wall in the breckfast zone - full of mold!!!! MY PICTURES TALK.....

I travelled to Budapest for a four night stay which was for my friends 60th birthday. On arriving at the korona hotel we were slightly apprehensive when we were handed 1 Yale key that opened 3 doors to get to our room. This key also opened the room next door to us. This made us on edge & we didn’t dare leave anything in our room. On entering the room it was blatantly obvious it had not been cleaned there were condoms and empty beer cans under the bed, the light bulbs were hanging out, smoke alarm ripped off the ceiling & the bathroom - broken toilet seat, broken shower door, broken tiles. The whole room was disgusting & filthy. On making a complaint which has taken 9 weeks to get a response not even an apology. I am taking this matter further. AVOID

The location is not the most central, BUT there are buses just outside the door in both directions taking you to the metro/tram/city. Our room was spacious, air conditioned and comfortable, even if the aircon was old fashioned and not the most quiet. Yes, it is 50 m down to the office, but the second building is perfectly fine! Only drawback was the shower with intermittent hot water, which was fixed promptly after a phone call, but still had to wait for the water heater to warm up. The service was excellent, with the the staff really doing their best to help. They also serve some amazing hot sandwiches at all hours, which is perfect after a night out!
